5 in the last 3 games is decent enough goal return, I agree Diouf on the wing is crap but there is no one else, Bojan isn't left footed, a winger or quick enough to play there so we're suck with him unfortunately, but when they sit deep they need to be swapped over, cutting in isn't going to work and will just make it even more compact, from what I've seen Woods seems more than a work horse midfielder, I think given the right movement he'd do well creating for whoever the striker is. I'm not a fan of 4-3-3 but thats not been our problem for the most part, shite players living on past glories is. Why not a left footer on the left wing? What's so great about inverted wingers ? Inverted wingers are the flavor of the month. Hughes was besotted with left-footed Shaq on the right and right-footed Arni on the left. That was part of his strategy of playing three at the back with overlapping wing backs. That was actually a big part of his downfall, because he never signed the WBs necessary to pull it off or three players good enough to play at the back. His plan was to use Wimmer, Shawcross and Zouma as the back three with Cameron and BMI on the bench. Unfortunately Wimmer (like Wollscheidt before him) was more than a bit shit.

I don't know, I can't be doing with inverted wingers, its made even worse when we have two full backs that aren't the best when going past the half way line.

I'm not sure about inverted wingers either - but if we play inverted wingers with attack minded fullbacks we'll get slaughtered. The 433 we are playing effectively does away with any width - the idea is to take the game to the centre backs and attack through the middle. If the fullbacks try to provide the attacking width it would lead to acres of space down the wings for the opposition to exploit. Pieters and Martina are old school sitting fullbacks - they are ideal for the formation we are playing and are doing a pretty good job. Our defensive issues are in the middle - creating space down the wings is the last thing we need.
