When he signed in early August, he was described as "maybe one week away from joining in full training, and possibly a further 1-2 weeks from match fitness"
Then we were told we were going to leave it until after the international break, due to an abundance of caution, so when he did get back to full training, he'd be fully ready to go.
And now, here we are, and he's still not ready to train.
A little bit concerning.

Jesus. Rowett when he signed: "He’s a week away from training and two or three weeks away from playing" Five weeks down the line and he's not even donned a bib at Clayton Wood. oops posted at the same time as FM

Clucas, I'm standing by my not a regular starter this side of Xmas prediction made on the day he signed and several times since!
4 weeks to get fit once he starts full training. 2 weeks to play some practice matches and effectively complete a close season. A couple of matches on the bench and only then will he be ready. And that assumes no complications or set backs which we know would be unusual with knee surgery.

What a waste of a signing. I could understand if he was class and worth the wait but Clucas is hardly a player who sets the pulse racing. One of those good solid pro kind of players. There are plenty of them around who are fit and available, why did we have to sign an injured one?

A quite ridiculous decision to sign a player recovering from injury who lets be honest is no better than what we have. We should have signed Woods and used the Clucas money for a decent left back. It just gets bloody worse.

Lessons have been learnt. Have you and your lady survived the storm intact, Jezza? Florence passed us by 300 miles away thankfully, on its way to the Carolinas, so it just got a bit windy and showery. Still a couple of months of storm season left to survive - September and October are the high season for hurricanes.

Aye, fuck off Stoke, how dare you be cautious with a player coming back from a serious injury.
Bastards.

Aye, fuck off Stoke, how dare you be cautious with a player coming back from a serious injury. Bastards. I suppose we could have left him to complete his recovery at Swansea and used the precious funds to sign a player who dare we say it could actually play before Xmas , just a thought that he might not be the only footballer in the world who is both available and competent when he actually plays .

I’ve got nothing against Sam Clucas and hope he’s up and running soon enough but surely there were players equally as good if not better who are available and fit to come in and compete for a place immediately.
As another poster alluded above he won’t be ready and firing properly until after Christmas- half way through the season and halfway through our promotion push- sorry mid table campaign- sorry our relegation battle...
