Given they paid £15m for him and sold him for less than half that then it's Swansea who must be embarrassed.[/b] Nowhere as embarrassed as we´ll be when we have to pay someone to take Wimmer and Imbula off our hands, [/quote] Fuck me it's catching! Swansea can't be embarrassed because we should be more embarrassed by something else....what kind of logic is that? It's an undisclosed fee, why? Because one of the two clubs is embarrassed. In this case it's not us. If by some chance some butjob takes Imbula off our hands would expect that to be undisclosed because Stoke will be embarrassed. Is this such a hard concept? Some fans appear to think only Stoke fuck up.

I've seen him a few times and like him brings some height to the midfield. He's like a Cameron upgrade, Definite Cameron update, think this sees Geoff off abroad

Interesting that Rowett has wanted him from early on here at the same time he's talked about spinning the squad around away from players that have been relegated, to enable us to bring in players with a different mentality. Did Clucas not get relegated last year? Yeah and the year before. Two in a row don't count for Gazza though, he finks they cancel each other out.

How much do you think we will get for Imbula ? Remind me how much we paid for him just for old times sake. About £17.5 million too much

How much do you think we will get for Imbula ? Nothing. Fail to see how that stops Swansea from being embarrassed? Are we into two wrongs make a right territory? No we are in the in the minus £24.3 million in transfer fees alone territory sounds a lot because it fucking is.

Agreed we'd be light at the back if Geoff goes, look how short we were at the back at the start of last season. I suspect Clucas is a replacement for Badou, surely there's no way Rowett would have chased him if he thought there was a chance Badou was going to stay.

Now could you explain what it is that you feel I have caught¿

No worries if you can´t, or simply don´t want to, it is a Clucas thread after all.

Welcome to Stoke, Sam! I for one am very pleased to see that you have agreed to sign for us and help to get us back up to the Premier League. To be honest I am completely fed up with all the negativity that comes to the surface whenever we make a new signing. Let’s face it we are a Championship side now and as such we are never going to be signing top Premier League players nor top players from European Leagues. I agree, I have never in all my life met a bunch of defeatists. Just like a bad toothache, the only way to stop it is extraction. Really grinds on my teeth, this pathetic attitude by a few.

Not what we needed at all but always thought Clucas is a decent player.
Can't help but think it's for the £ with him though, which puts a bit of a dampener on it. Plus the fact he hasn't had a pre-season.
Turned down Prem + European football at Burnley and inevitably we've paid them what they wanted (hence the celebratory pic with his agent at CW).

I’m hoping he’ll play CDM and bring much-needed stability and cohesion to our midfield. Shame he’s out for a few weeks though cos we could do with him tomorrow against Brentford.

Maybe you can tell us how much we will pay the clubs to take them off our hands as you seem to be sure that's what will be happeneing?

So, did he have a medical yesterday then or not?
In the latest video he admits he's injured and it'll take a few weeks for that to sort - then he needs to get "match fit" - so we're looking at 4-5 weeks at the earliest, with no setbacks.
I assume the medical was our team just looking at the injury just making sure it's nothing too serious and that he would come back to full fitness?

I would imagine he had the same full medical that all major player investments in the £5m plus bracket get and in addition they would have spent some extra time examining the outcome of the knee surgery he had back in May to satisfy themselves he will make a full recovery. Clucas himself said 'hopefully he can start training again in a couple of weeks' and from there I presume he would have to do the equivalent of a pre-season or more since he will not have played for 4 months. Then a few practice games and likely start on the bench. I can't imagine he will start for us before November if there are no set backs, but no one quite does pessimism like me!

Our astute recruitment team will have inserted a clause in the doctors contract for this one that if he passes him medically fit to play, and he hasn't after n months then the doctors is liable for £6m in damages to the club. It should focus the attention on doing a full, comprehensive and diligent examination don't you think?

The player himself said he will be able to train 'hopefully in a couple of weeks' and from there after 4 months out he'd have to be Superman to get match fit in "a week or two" wouldn't he? And even then match fit is not match sharp. Oh well, we'll see, Rowett is much closer to the action than I am behind my laptop!

I can't imagine any doctor in their right mind would sign up to something like that without a heavy incentive for him/her self - i.e. if he plays within the specified timescale, then doctor gets a mega tidy bonus!

Whoopee do? Who were expecting, Antoine Griezmann? That's exactly the type of player we should be going for. Our owner is the richest man in the world and there are no other factors other than money involved when signing players, none at all. This transfer window just shows the complete lack of ambition we have as a club and is the main reason that I'm not attending again until the club has been dissolved and reformed as Stoke On Trent City Potters AFC, starts from scratch at the bottom of the league pyramid, knocks down the stadium and rebuilds one in the exact same spot and to the exact specifications as the Victoria Ground, changes the badge back to a staggeringly intricate and difficult to reproduce coat of arms, and reanimates the corpse of Sir Stanley Matthews to play on the wing in some kind of desperate macabre attempt to hark back to those halcyon days that never really existed as you remember them. Scholes Out!
