Nixon suggesting there may be something in the Portugal stuff.. Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko STOKE. Bojan interest in Portugal one to watch. Porto keen. Benfica maybe. International window open until end of month. It would be desperately disappointing if this was the case. He has easily been one of our better players in pre-season, he's clearly training well and he trained better and with more intensity that pretty much everyone in yesterday's open session, as well as showcasing his obvious talents and he played well when he came on v Leeds on Sunday. If we don't give him a chance to perform for us and be the creative catalyst we need, then give the options available to us, Rowett needs sectioning.

If he goes before Saturday and we are as bad as we were at Leeds against Brentford, things are going to get really toxic.

You'd have to think he'd quite fancy a stint at Porto though wouldn't you?!!! If we let him go it's Rowett who would make this decision, so fingers crossed.

The side were better with the above three players. I'm not saying anything about individuals in this instance. That's just what happened. Could have just been Leeds we’re running out of stream by then plus took their foot off the pedal as were easily leading. Still think Boyan should start Saturday god knows who with though if Afobe is injured, dare we try to get Berahino in front of him and ask him to make runs in the Channels for Boj to pick out not sure if we’ve ever tried that or not we seem to have tried everything else!!!

It's a fine line they're preparing to tread if he does go, fans aren't blind much as some managers try to pretend they are. It'll signal an extremely disappointing intent from Rowett and I'm afraid it'll be a case of 'Strike 1' for a lot of fans, me included.

After our recent attempts to 'rebuild' <pmpph>, and our inability to shift players who are simply too shit to attract interest from elsewhere, letting Bojan go at this stage would be ludicrous.
Which pretty much guarantees we'll do it. Which will piss me off pretty badly.
Over to you, Super Gaz.

I certainly think we need a #10 to support the isolated striker and BoJan would appear to be the closest we have to someone who can play that position.....the other alternatives being Ince or Allen I guess? Allen at No10. I think I'm going to cry.

Bojan wants out...fuck him off More like Bojan just wants to play first team football, preferably at Stoke but if he can't get a game here due to us playing this shitty 4-3-3 with 3 identical midfielders with zero creativity, then can you really blame him if he wants to move on?

People have got to be very careful of what they wish for. Replacing all the flair players with try hard runners will be a disaster. We all saw what the headless chicken run around a lot midfield achieved on Sunday, bugger all. The run up and down a lot winger exactly the same, he did great running clear through on goal but that's his job running when it came to shooting or passing, panic set in. Ideally a balance of flair and runners would be ideal but the players were now being linked with Arter etc and the fact that any flair players are the only ones being linked with moves away is worrying.

He has to play vs Brentford we have looked much better since him and fletcher came on, much more creativity, also crouch made a good Plaistow impact but very disappointing from most players Bare in mind that this was our very first game of the season and that the Leeds players were dropping like flies with cramp after running themselves into the ground that we threw on some fresh players in Fletcher and Bojan.Perhaps Crouch looked effective for a short while. The fact is that time has clearly shown that these players are not the answer to our problems. Very sad about Bojan and Crouch is approaching 38. Fletcher has had a great career but his legs have gone. We desperately need new blood in the squad!

I'm a Bojan fan, but after all this time, and everything that's gone on, I would expect him to stay on and fight for his position, his way of football, even if it doesn't work out at first. Moreover on current form/recent history, would he expect to get into Porto's first team? Hardly.

Bojan really does have to play he is the brightest bulb in the box, his one touch close link up play is second to none. I want to see rowett play a system that suits his best players at the club, gonna is defiantly our most creative player and should be the first name on the team sheet in his preferred number 10 position without doubt.
I would play a 5-2-1-2 formation with wingbacks.
* McLean & Bauer at wingback.
* 2 x deep lying defensive midfielders with Allen deepest holding & etebo alongside but with more freedom to push further on to support the team moving forward.
* Bojan is a very intelligent player he would thrive with the freedom to roam between midfield & attack, getting in and around the strikers when they have the ball as well as creating, Bojan would both create & score goals. We also have Ince now that could do exactly the same thing, so the position suits both & is covered without need for another transfer in that department.
* 2 x strikers. Afobe & Berahino. These guys can & will score goals given the actual opportunities to do so, Bojan is absolutely key to this.
This formation makes absolute sense and will create the chances that are needed for our two very good finishers to score goals because crosses will come from both flanks and link up play can come through the centre.
I'm a rowett fan I like the guy but he needs to open his mind & his eyes here because we are title favourites, we should be attacking this league this season not be a cautious team, we have the talent all ready at the club.

Bojan wants out...fuck him off Don't think he wants out,he just wants and needs a decent run in the team that is befitting the most skillful and creative player we have in our squad. No brainer for me.

What has he done since his injury to make people clamour for him like this? It's insane. Where is the invention going to come from, he is only 27 and we have seen his quality in the past. Rowett has inherited a potentially a quality player and a test of his managerial qualities is to get the best from Bojan. First name on the teamsheet for me.

What has he done since his injury to make people clamour for him like this? It's insane. For me we were shit with Etebo, Allen and Badou. No chemistry, no flair, no creativity, no runs. Zero linkups with Afobe until Bojan entered. Problem is he has to roam we can’t have two in the midfield not helping keep shape. We can’t have both Etebo and Badou at the same time being I’ll disciplined if Allen or Bojan are uptop. We need a new ball playing cdm and we’ve got a really good shot at having multiple options.

What has he done since his injury to make people clamour for him like this? It's insane. Is not insane. What has anyone else done since his injury? Against Leeds, his perperformance was one of very few bright spots in an otherwise dull performance by Stoke. With Bojan on, playing down the middle, we started to get balls into the box, which we didn't do before his arrival. That was when we started to look threatening, so that is what we have to build on.
