At the moment I don't think they have delivered on the promised "major overhaul". We've retained some of the players we ideally wanted to keep but thought we'd lose. We've signed some players who will hopefully strengthen and improve us. We've got a manager who knows the league and will hopefully get us a playoff place at least We're still stuck with most of the dead wood that nobody wants which is stopping us bringing in further new signings We're subsequently still short of improvements in several key positions We're still stuck with the same CEO and TD who presided over our relegation. I realise Teflon and Hoss are seemingly bulletproof but we desperately need to get rid of some/all of the dead wood to free up space, AND ensure we bring in the much needed LB, CD, CDM, and striker. No more excuses from the "transfer team" - no more " we really did try to sign a striker", or "clubs are difficult to deal with" etc etc. We all know that all (any ?) of this isn't going to happen but if we do seriously want promotion then we should do as much as possible to enable GR to have a really good chance. At the moment 7 out of 10 for me. Good start but important work still needs to be done Great post Deeside

I have kept this to myself but I had a coversation with a current striker, I won’t say who but he’s a bit shit, plays for Senegal and also an emergency right back. They share the exact same feelings on the board we do. The squad are adamant a level of corruption is going on and that nothing will change whilst they are there. A main gripe was the signing of swimmer who turned up Fat and useless when other options needing addressing. He brough up that name not me. I have not said anything on this but they need calling out now as today that starting eleven is good enough but there is an undercurrent of toxins going through the club and it needs outing. A change at board level, Cartwright and Scholes and the club is in a better position 100% As always take that as you will, but that 100% happened. If you check my other posts I also posted about Diouf being offered China which he brought up in this chat. I probably shouldn’t say anything his on here but I want the fans to know the squad is thinking the same as us Do you think the board will act based on today tho? Coates fiddled while Rome burned last season, despite assurances of change little has been done, change was needed at the very top until that happens we will not see improvements.

Start of the summer we were on course, changing manager and bringing in a few. Also holding onto most of the best players (still not completed yet though).
6 weeks later after losing most of our friendlies and not scoring goals, we still haven't addressed the striking and midfield problems we have. I can't understand how our midfield can be so bad. No proper defensive cover, no ball retention and no creativity going forward.
On top of that we still have a shitload of deadwood on the books.
Our pre-season has been poor and now we're into league time and will lose ground on the teams at the top while we're still fannying about trying to sign players, get rid of deadwood and decide on our best starting 11 up until the end of the transfer window.

Who are our best players though, Butland was poor, Pieters was poor, Ryan and BMI were poor, Allen was shocking, I honestly think that was as bad or possibly worse than last season. We needed a root and branch re organisation after self inflicted relegation, Laurel and Hardy are still firmly entrenched, Coates has not changed his mind set, we can not score, can not create and can not defend all the issues that took us down, the rotten apples are still hanging around stinking the place out nowt much has changed apart from the manager and his backroom staff. The situation required a chainsaw we have tackled the job with hand pruning shears.

Peter / John Coates, May 2018 Working hard to keep the crown jewels I see Butland to be sold on the cheap, conveniently ermmmm too late to invest in strengthening the wank squad we have assembled for our assault on the Championship, empty promises and words from the board of fraud.
