The early indications were bright but we do seem to have tailed off slightly. Makes you wonder if Badou or Jack will have to leave before we get anymore bigger signings.

They didn't promise anything. Sentinel reported different. "Coates family promise major overhaul" or something similar wasn't it. Not sure the family used the word promise perse, but they made it very clear they felt the fans pain and would be making damn certain things were different this season. Time will tell.

They didn't promise anything. I know that. We all know that. But let it not spoil the forthcoming garbage from the OP.

That's a sub editor's work. In any case, they've replaced the entire coaching staff. You can't get much more of an overhaul at a football club.

Didn't Coates say they were going to build a squad good enough to bounce straight back to the PL?

We have done some really good business this summer. Still work to be done but the expectations of some fans are absolutely mental and not possible in one transfer window.
I don't claim to understand everything about how football works, far from it, but some of the shit (Not necessarily the op) I've been reading on here lately smacks of a load of people who really haven't got the first clue about how football at professional level works.

They didn't promise anything. Stoke City owners Peter and John Coates have responded to the club's relegation from the Premier League, admitting to "significant errors" in the transfer market and promising a "major overhaul" in the summer. After ten years in the top flight, Stoke were relegated on Saturday with a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the Bet365 Stadium. Some Stoke players have since expressed their unhappiness with goings-on at the club - Jack Butland described their recruitment as "farcical", while Charlie Adam said some of the squad had been "getting away with murder".

The board do their bit, the money has been there for recruitment. They haven't forced a fire sale.
The issues are with the recruitment process in recent years, and our lack of signing a holding midfielder this summer

To be fair the main offender paid with his job.

Not really an answerable question until the season's finished, is it?
They said they'd do all they can to get promoted at first try.
They've replaced the coaching staff, brought in reinforcements and unexpectedly kept (or are seemingly keeping) some key players.
By my reckoning we're a LB, DM, RW and two STs short but the window's not shut yet, and although I don't particularly like Cartwright and Scholes , I also know next to nothing about what they actually do.
Time and the willingness to change are going to be the key issues here. If we start shit, we need to see Rowett making changes unlike our last two managers. If the window shuts and we're short in squad depth, are we going to address it or ignore it like we did with goalscorers in Jan?
Far, far too early to tell if they've done "all they can".
