Hopefully the extra 30 hasn’t taken too much out of us. Can see there being changes with Young and Alli looking injured. Need to sort our set pieces out as the Swedes are a big side.

Any one of Ali, Sterling and Lingard’s position could all be at risk after tonight.
He must bring Rose in for Young.....

Rashford must start over Sterling. I have a bad feeling about it. The Swedes are shit but tall, physical, and frustrate the hell out of their opponents. Something Stoke fans are familiar with. I'll be shocked if it's not a snoozefest. Something else Stoke fans are familiar with

Lack of guile could be an issue. It'll probably be attritional, with less shithousery than tonight.

We need to create more but not sure from where. I think I’d go
Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire (Imense today)
Trippier Lingard Loftus Cheek Henderson Rose
Kane Rashford

Alli and Young are seemingly injured, and Lingard and Sterling contributed nothing. Sterling hasn't done anything in any if the games so far but for some reason Southgate keeps picking him.
At least 3 changes needed for the Sweden QF. Not sure Dier should be anywhere near the starting 11.

I thought Sterling played well first half.
Ash Young was excellent, kept his head and talked to the younger players getting them to stay calm too.
Really important
Sweden will sit deep.

Rose rashford and loftus-cheek must all start. Lingaards movement was top notch tonight, but nobody was on his wavelength. Sterling Ali and young surely have to be dropped

Would have preferred the Swiss but at least we're there now 🤯

We were very poor - yes, they were a niggly, cheating, fouling bunch of tossers, but we were simply not good enough to break them down. We have no creativity coming from midfield, Sterling is too lightweight up front and our width is compromised by Young cutting back inside on the left.
Rose (Young), Loftus Cheek (Dele) and Rashford (Sterling) to start on Saturday for me.

Sterling is a funny one. His end product has been appalling and he seems to be suffering from nerves in trying to force things.
But we look way worse when he’s off the pitch, so it’s clear he is contributing by making runs and wanting the ball.
Has to play for me, at least he starts things off for us.

It's a tough game but definitely winnable.
Reckon we will need 3 goals to do it because I can see them getting 2 if we play 3 at the back.

Just inform the Swedes that it's our culture to win and they'll simply hand us the game and brush the controversy under the prayer mat carpet.

This one should be very comfortable, England will be in the semi-finals of the World Cup without really playing at all in qualifying or the competition proper except for Belgium to whom we lost. I'm not complaining but its just bizarre.

Did Vardy pick up an injury? Sure I saw him holding his groin as he left the pitch? (unless it was just his quarter final boner) Surprised he didn't take a penalty? Maybe feeling some tightness

Dare I say we need to go more direct with no creative midfielder.

Sweden tactics: "Bore them to death", the football experts (two managers) said in the studio. Funny people. That's how it usually is in the later stages between two European teams. When two European teams meet each other, usually they both seem to adopt an ultra tactical approach and don't play with freedom. The games on the "hard" side of the bracket, which all involved at least one non-European team, were far more enjoyable.

They won't themselves be provoked like the Colombians did, and all that English cheating and play acting will make no impression on them. And, they don't have a habit of losing to England!

The Swedes won't know how to come back from being down.

Pretty much agree with most of the above.
Rose, RLC and Rashford in for Young, Alli and Sterling.
Dier only comes on if we're 4-0 up.
Welbeck to be used over Vardy too, who has been woeful.

This will be a tough game in a different way. They are solid and functional. Tactically very well drilled.
It will be a fascinating watch.

With 5 players on a yellow card I can't understand why we didn't just run with the ball towards the box against Colombia. We got away with it.
Sweden are a rigid 4-4-2 who suck you in and hit with numbers on the break. Their shooting is trained by Diouf but against us every shot will be a worldy no doubt.
Time for the driblers on this one they coped with half a dozen descent crosses from Shaq and looked like they could go on all night. Keep it on the floor and we will win.
