Nothing against Grant but , why the hell would we countenance this, with our No 1 goalie, probably on his way. You wouldn't get a non league goalie for £1.5 million.

Sounds like the replacement No.2 if it's Kuszczak will cost less than that. And with Butland almost certainly staying, maybe that'll be that with keepers?

Presumably we're taking Federici at the same or less cost, and with lower wages?

We need to have first refusal of Sam Johnstone worked into any deal SSN suggesting Johnstones off to WBA for £5mil.. Maybe Rowetts had reassurances of Butland he's staying with us next season. Was reported they were chatting over the weekend, could explain why Grants move appears to have been Ok'd today..

For £5 million, we should be all over that, from what I have seen, he will become one of the best keepers in the country, he will be worth £20 million+ in a few years

Just guessing but I'd say Rowett has a replacement #1 up his sleeve but keeping his powder dry until such time as we get a firm offer for Butland. If he brings someone in who would appear to be a #1 contender right now then any negotiating position we might have is weakened further.

BBC say the Johstone-West Brom fee is an intial £6.5 rising to a possible 10 Must mean Butland has said he’s staying for a season and then moving if we don’t get promoted

Must admit we’re selling our number 2 goalkeeper to one of the richest clubs in the world. Surely we can eek out a bit more money than £1.5m or at least get one of their youngsters on loan. Very strange one this in my eyes 👀

Man Utd probably wouldn't pay anymore anyway so what's point in standing in Grants way of a big final signing on fee & chance to feature in the Champions League.. Maybe it's Stoke's way of rewarding him for his service when he was playing for us & then making him No.2.. Plus Man Utd sold us Shawcross for £1mil & should say we've had our monies worth there. Might be case of you scratch our back we'll scratch yours further down the line..

No surprise there then, they are getting a proven PL GK for peanuts he's a decent option for us as No 1 as he proved, £1.5 million is a joke it also appears we will be replacing him with a third choice keeper very strange business he is still under contract to us, we paid £1.3 million for him

It's a no brainer for him and us, good luck** to the lad *** except when he is playing in goal for them of course

The fact he hasn't left yet😀 Also because various Premier League clubs who might have signed him have signed other keepers already. Well that is one way of looking at it. Another is that he is involved in the World Cup (even as a reserve) and will sort out his future when immediate business is taken care of. Who is to say Spain, Italy or Germany may not be his preferred destination. I hope he stays of course but following these thoughts I guess the starting 11 for Leeds will be the starting 11 that got relegated as none of them have left yet. Can you imagine that side in the championship haha I am not sure if that thought is a good or bad one 😂😂

Adam Federici has passed a medical ahead of a proposed move from Bournemouth to Stoke, according to Sky sources.
The Australian goalkeeper will act as a replacement for Lee Grant, who moved to Manchester United yesterday.
