Granty is 35 and probably has one more move and signing on fee left in him. So a chance to go to the shit and get a pay rise is great for him. He won't play too much but he'll get a bit of gametime along the way.

I feel at the very least, Grant would have made an excellent number 2 in the Championship. Indeed I would have been happy with him at number 1. Tell me Rowett knows what he's doing? I always get nervous when we get rid before getting in an obvious and adequate replacement. If we are keeping Butland, does that mean JH is no. 2? The process still doesn't fill me with confidence. "Sorry Lee, you can't have your late-career dream move as we need you to sit on our bench." Don't think that's going to happen, is it? Derby couldn't keep him as a Championship no 2 when he wanted to come here, the same applies now magnified by roughly 1000.

Surely we're getting one of there's on loan then? Pereira/Johnstone? Isnt the lad Henderson highly rated? He was on loan at Shrewsbury last season. He's gone on loan to Sheffield United

Well it'd be wrong if we tried to block it imho. Even if it isn't ideal for us.

I really rate Grant and I'm sorry he is going (if he is!). I thought he would be our number 1 next season. It certainly raises plenty of questions re the keeper position doesn't it?

I doubt whether Grant has been told anything re his Stoke future. I think it is more a case of Mourinho being impressed with his MOM performance against them a couple of years ago and sees him as a good safe option. From Grant's point of view, the lure of a big club wanting to sign him, even as a No.3 is too good to turn down and no doubt he will get a hefty pay rise and maybe a future coaching job. I can't see us signing 2 goalkeepers this summer so I would think Jakob Haugaard will be our number 2. I don't know if he has improved or not as I haven't seen him play since last years Uhren Cup, when he looked okay, but I would trust Andy Quy's judgement on this.

He was second choice I think? People went on about him being their third-choice keeper, but it wasn't actually true. He was on their bench for every game at the start of 2016-17 until we signed him. I'm not suggesting that we'd let him go for free.

Personally I haven't seen him play for a year so I have no real opinion on him but since the club extended his contract they must hold him in high regard. Perhaps, just perhaps, Andy Quy knows more about goalkeeping than you?

Perhaps we are doing a part-exchange for one of their bench warmers like Rashford

That wouldn't be difficult as I know very little about coaching goalkeepers, on the other hand I can tell if a keeper is decent reading some of the remarks from Wigan fans it seems he has not overly improved from the pile of wank he was for us before he went on loan, I could be wrong maybe we should revisit this after his first few games for us next season.

What sort of fee will we get for him? He might be able to put Man United on his CV but he'll never play surely? I rate Romero but Grant isn't going to knock him off his perch. He'll doubtless get a wage rise and I guess he has to think of his family's future. If he was going to be number 1 with us he'd stay.

We didn't use him as much as we should have , as his performances v man utd and others showed .
He was basically dropped because Butland was fit again
Butland didn't actually play any better than Grant , but he was dropped because Butland was fit
All a bit odd .
He earned the wages he picked up at stoke and deserves his move .
As for Haugaard , OMG , I am speechless , unbelievably bad

I am a bit perplexed at this move and can't see how it helps stoke
Unless Sam Johnston is comming the other way from man utd youth to stoke
Even on a loan , that would be a great signing

Sit on a championship bench or go to one of the worlds biggest clubs and probably treble your wages? Not much of a decision really is it?
