One for Vardy I imagine, he'd have a riot against that lot.

I thought he was poor today.

No lingard for me. I thought he was poor today. He was in there to miss them which isn't always a bad thing. Great run for the 1 at the end of the first half that went the wrong side of the post. Given Alli was clearly struggling I wouldn't be adverse to dropping him if it meant he was 100% for the Belgium game.

Lingard played well I thought. Missed some chances but the sign of a bad player is not getting into those positions in the first place, not missing them.

I would persist with the same XI bar potentially swapping Dele out for RLC.
No need to change much, that team played well.
Sterling won't play that poorly again.

My god. You'd swap Maguire for Jones?
Did you watch the game? Who won all the set pieces?
Maguire misplaced a couple of passes but has huge potential and was driving forward second half, and set up a goal.
I'm sorry but replacing maguire with Jones is mental.
I'd probably drop Young and bring in Rose.

I think that major changes are needed in defence, including playing three proper centre backs and dropping Pickford. The forward line did pretty well in the early stages, until they ran out of steam.
Butland
Walker
Jones Maguire Dier
Rose
Henderson Loftus-Cheek
Lingard Stirling
Kane

Butland Walker Jones Maguire Dier Rose Henderson Loftus-Cheek Lingard Stirling Alli Kane On what grounds is Gazza Southgate going to change the keeper? I mean I'd change him for his 'Care in the Community' haircut but I don't have to answer to the world's press and the Football Association

Butland Walker Jones Maguire Dier Rose Henderson Loftus-Cheek Lingard Stirling Alli Kane I don’t think Stones deserves to be dropped. Especially if tugboat Maguires keeping his spot. His positioning was awful today! That said his aerial threat at both ends means he stays for me. Trippier had a great game so why would you leave him out? Rose for Young, maybe RLC for Alli, and that’s it. No need for drastic changes from what I saw, you must have been watching a different game to me. Why you think major changes are needed at the back when our opposition today didn’t register a shot on target from open play is beyond me.

Butland Walker Jones Maguire Dier Rose Henderson Loftus-Cheek Lingard Stirling Alli Kane Why? The defence had literally nothing to do tonight? I don’t see how you can criticise them when 95% of the match was played in the Tunisian half and they posed no threat at all throughout the entire match.

Forget the Stoke interest in Butland. I really believe Pickford will drop a clanger at some point, from what ive seen of him hes (im not going to say coward thats harsh) not great on coming out to get the ball. I stand to be corrected obviously but thats my view. That’s been exactly Butland’s weak point this season though, being a massive pussy when there’s a ball to be won around the 6 yard box. Neither is an improvement on the other at the moment (plus you can hardly say Pickford did anything wrong today).

Neither that impressive as are Lingard and Alli, especially Lingard who missed four gilt edged sitters, and should never have been out there!

One for Vardy I imagine, he'd have a riot against that lot. Panama will sit extremely deep. It's exactly not the game for him. Vardy would be much better utilised against Belgium who will naturally hold a higher line with their possession style.

Well this is part of why football is so interesting, everyone has an opinion. Ive not seen much of Pope but out of Butland and Pickford there is no contest for me. Jack maybe out of sorts but I dont see him flapping when it comes to the big games. Pickford just doesnt fill me with confidence tbh. And as for Lingard, Walker and Sterling being "terrible" thats a bit strong dont u think?

We should be able to beat Panama with any variation around our core players - I would go with Rashford over Stirling and Alli’s temperament would be an issue with a team like Panama. The danger is that the word will now be out that off-the-ball assault in the penalty box is okay. I expect see that feature in the game.

Not against Panama who will defend on the edge of their box he's not, Belgium yes I could see that happening. But if Loftus-Cheek came in to replace him against Panama I'd have absolutely no problem with that.....

It is tournament football so Southgate SHOULD make a few changes as the games come thick and fast.
Young, Alli, Stirling out
Rose, RLC, Rashford in
I would keep the back 3 the same just for consistency. They dont fill me with confidence but they need to get used to playing together more and more it can only help. Just swap the attacking players more.
SUBs for Panama to use 2nd half
Vardy, Dier and maybe give Welbeck a run-out
That will give all the attacking players a run-out in the first 2 games and keep everyone fresh. We should beat Panama whatever team we put out and keeps everyone on their toes. Vardy is too good not to get a game later in the tournament
