I know Lambert is an absolutely toss manager but for some reason I've got a really funny feeling he will do well next season. Don't ask me to explain why I think he will but I just think he will. Do you remember the binary season? I feckin do painfully. Look at our goals scored since Lambert has been here. We haven't scored more than one goal now for 10 games. That's what will be on offer next season and seemingly the season after until his contract expires. 83 goals scored and 58 conceded during his Narwich promotion season! All we need is a Grant Holt type and goldust!

We all know the plan of the board when it come to managers. Cheap yes men. Think back to when Pulis reign was coming to an end. He was shipped down to London for the Shea signing. Top player he turned out to be! š

They might have been telling Hughes they were also chasing his targets only to end up with Berahino because he was the ācheapestā come on the whole season smacks of penny pinching by the board along with dithering about over what to do next, gone was the talk of next level and progression to Europe because they saw it would cost the some money! Why are you so convinced he wasnāt a Hughes target? If Hughes didnāt want him do you think Coates wouldāve sanctioned a bid of Ā£20m for him? I just donāt believe he was Hughes ātopā target just an āoptionā he eventually had to take who knows what goes on behind the scenes up there!

Sick of all this we don't have a goalscorer excuse for us not winning.
The reason we aren't winning is because we are not creating enough goal scoring opportunities.
They're expecting us to convert every chance, no team in the world does that.
We're getting no help from anywhere in the team.
Set-pieces, no defender chips in or even looks like scoring from a corner or free-kick. None (except Shaq) of our midfield drive forward and look like getting on the end of anything.
With the exception of Shaqiri I don't feel like any player will score when the ball is at his feet or coming to him.
We could have Lewandowski up front and he'd struggle to hit 10 goals in our team. Teams with good scoring records have options, and do one little thing called ATTACK.
Sadly, we create very little, maybe 1-2 good chances a game if that and expecting to convert everytime.

By giving him a large amount of money to spend in exchange for someone he'd have had little use for even if he'd been an angel? I think the Berahino thing is relatively straightforward. When our interest first surfaced he was still seen as something of a coup - Spurs had recently been interested and the thought was he could be rehabilitated into one of the most exciting strikers in the league, which is what he once threatened to be. Evidence mounted that that wasn't the case but we ploughed on regardless, convinced we could fix him, and got our fingers burnt. Again.

Why are any of you surprised? Scholes and Cartwright are doing a stunning job for Peter.... just not doing a stunning job for us.

If he wants to stick by some of the men that have helped relegate the club then thatās his prerogative. It really his decision to make but why come out with twaddle about process, that just makes him seem arrogant, aloof and out of touch. It just needed a bit more humility along the lines of, āalthough results may suggest otherwise, we have been impressed with how Paul has approached the job thus far and if we are relegated, Iād like to give him the opportunity to get us back up. I can promise him the backing he needs and Iām sure weāll have a real good tilt at coming back up first time. There is no doubt that many of our recent signings have not worked out, everyone involved must take responsibility for that, itās not easy but our hit rate of success really needs to improve and Iām sure everyone will be working towards that. We will review what went wrong with a few of our recent higher profile purchases and try and avoid the same mistakes again.ā Now I know we all would have still gone batty and it might of been seen as transparent by most but it just might have taken the edge off the anger caused by the utter bollocks of yesterday. Does he not have a PR man? This wasn't an outright PR statement though. He was answering questions from journos who conveniently leave the actual questions out of the article. "Peter, There seems to be fan unrest about recent recruitment process" -> turns to him saying nothing is wrong with the process, it's the judgment. And he is right. If Carto eventually moves on, the process will be the same. Identify targets the board and management criteria dictates. Coates isn't a prick and would never sack his employees in the newspaper. Just because he's backed them publicly doesn't mean they are safe, look at Hughes. Bayern was right a long time ago, I disagree with him about him being TOTALLY SILENT, but Coates should refrain from these types of probing interviews. They are looking for headlines to generate faux outrage across social media and get people clicking links.

So what are you suggesting then, that Hughes had Berahino forced upon him? If you want to call it that, but if you're a Manager and you give a lsit in with 5 strikers and they come back and say its a 'no' from 1-5 we can't get them but we can get you "this bloke" he's got potential, one time England under 23 etc etc blah blah. You need a striker so you say ok or you say this is shit I've told you I need my top targets I'm out of here, out of work and with no pay off for quitting instead of being sacked. I'm saying Hughes just got fed up post Shaquiri of them not getting his top targets to improve and push on and 'went with the flow' 'made do with what he had' which is now clear wasn't good enough, I'm not excusing Hughes for his tactics and decisions in the latter part of his reign though he should have had more conviction and pushed for better. The only way we'll ever know the truth though is if Hughes or someone else leaving the club blows the lid of it!!! Hughes himself said Jese was an elite level striker

You got to also note the bildge of self sufficiency that kept coming out of the club, firstly we have failed to produce a single professional as yet upto premier league standard. So that in the short term has failed miserably. Secondly we donāt buy the Finnished article, we buy crocks, bad eggs all around general wasters who are a few million cheaper per buy than the shite that is stealing a living at the minute. For example Zouma has cost by all accounts around 7 million for a season, heās no better than what we had, also if we hadnāt of haggled on the price of martins indi he would of been in earlier and we probably wouldnt of spunked or the 18 million on lard arse Wimmer. The Ā£25m could of been spent on a genuine first class centre half or forward not 2 nearly men. The hope is to buy a player with a bigger resale value like Southampton have done so well, until this season when itās gone tits and 30 odd million on gabbadini and lemina looks poor value.

It might not actually mean anything. He's been asked the question and he can't say no, can he?
Would be completely negative to not back Lambert when there is still a slight chance of survival.
No reason to think he's not on top of things, as that Watford/Moyes story proves. As others have suggested, just stay away from the press.

What is the actual 'success rate' of our transfers in the last 4-5 seasons? This is like falling off a ladder in slow motion, prong by prong.

SPOILER ALERT:
Everything stays the same in the management structure(Lambert, Cartwright, Scholes etc)
We sell our best players for considerably less than they're worth and replace them with two-bit players costing minimum amounts - we finish 12th.

I'm assuming, that you mean, the personal input that has influenced signing is Cartwrights. Leaving out the big three failed signings as you suggest, (which in my opinion were down to Hughes) Tell us about all the other disasters he's responsible for.
