But, yeah, you are right. He has pretty much boxed himself in. He can't really say much else before the end of the season - but the very fact he's prepared to go on the record and back them shows they're pretty much nailed-on to stay. Thoroughly, thoroughly depressing. In fact, this is turning out to be nearly as depressing as last Monday night! |

Just what we didn't want to hear, but which we all expected.
So in essence nothing is going to change in the club's management structure and personnel. Just what is going to suddenly change to stop the steady decline and transform us into genuine promotion contenders ? No mention of Scholes in his statement, just Carto and Lambert.
Next week or so we'll have the statement from Coates that he's still satisfied on the whole with the players, and Lambert and the Board don't see any need for a lot of new players this summer, and we'll be using the loan market to it's full extent. Coates has already said it's poor decisions and luck that have contributed to our situation and ultimately relegated us. He mentions yet again the need for a striker in January so why the hell didn't they cast the net wider than just bloody Liverpool to find one ?
If we get off to a bad start next season I can see it all turning sour very early.
Ostriches with their head n the sand the lot of 'em.
