We all have to give Lambert our full backing. It isn't his fault the board offered him the job; he's unemployed and was hardly going to say no. I'm as astonished as everybody else. But he is now our manager and him and the players will need unity from the fans towards them.
If you want to protest anything its the incompetency of our board namely Tony Scholes.

Protest? Give it a pissing rest. I'd say 95% of the fanbase is flabbergasted with the appointment but thankfully the majority know that the club needs us to stick with them. Through thick and thin, good times and shit - do you want to help us stay in the league or not? Division is not what is required now. To finish 17th or above, we need to think like it's 08/09 all over again.

I recall people being unhappy when Pulis and Hughes were first appointed.
Aside from the last 18 months of both reigns they've brought us the best years of being a Stoke fan in the last few decades.
I'm not expecting miracles but for fuck sake give him chance.

DIdnāt want him. Last night I was fuming and felt done with the club for this season, all because of my anger at the incompetance of our board.
Now the anger has subsided weāre left with what we have and he and the team will get full support from me.
Need to put any feelings we have about the manager and board to the side until the end of the season atleast.

Are the Protest begin considered now. Sky are at Stoke ground today. Stoke fans get down and speak out. Lambert stats are not good since he left Norwich. We need fans then to protest away from game and at the training ground. Two and half year deal What are you hoping the outcome is? That he's sacked?

Anyone thinking of protesting needs only look at the last few Premier League clubs to try it:
Aston Villa for 2 seasons (nearly relegated, then relegated) Newcastle United for 2 seasons a few years apart (relegated, relegated) Blackburn Rovers (relegated) Manchester United (protest became wearing yellow and green scarves, which tourists starting buying because they looked popular amongst the ārealā fans. No real impact)
Create an atmosphere that your players are desperate to be away from, and donāt be surprised if they donāt run through brick walls to keep the club up.

Protest - absolute rubbish!! ......................................................... It is easy to jump to the conclusion that Paul Lambert has very little to offer However,a look back at his record suggests many positives... Lambert was given no money to spend in his last few seasons at Villa, nor at Blackburn or Wolves. I believe he left Blackburn of his own accord at the end of that season His win % at Wolves was very good when he departed at the season end (was there a change of ownership?) His earlier managerial career at Norwich and Villa was superb. He brought in many young faces at Villa in particular And he is only 48 - young but experienced Looking good? For me this is probably the worst appointment we could of made and it smacks of panic but we donāt protest against a brand new manager, itās time for idiots like you get behind the team. You probably cried out for Hughes to go. Well this is where it has got us. I have my reasons for thinking this is the worst of appointments, I know a Wolves player very well he was a first teamer until the latest Manager arrived. The player told me Lambert doesnāt communicate, is too soft with players, is poor at planning training and his tactics are poor. I also wonder what sort of contacts Lambert may have. The blame for this appointment is not his, heās simply been offered the job, my feeling is, I may be way out, that the Coatesā have bottled it and that may be down to supporter pressure but I doubt it. They said they wanted a manager by today and thatās what they did. This maybe unpopular but in this situation they could of done one of two things 1) They could of taken a chance on a untested manager: Graham Potter, Paul Hurst and others that may be about or 2) Waited until a top manager or at least a very good manager was available. With the second choice it may have meant missing out on players in the transfer window but I believe the players we have are good enough to get us out of this mess if managed properly. I know Peter Coates has done a fantastic job for us the supporters and he is the reason why we can call ourselves a Premier team but heās dropped a bollock on this one and needs to act quickly and wisely if things go wrong but I will never call for him to go. Keep your protests to the media donāt protest at games, get behind the team tonight as I will do. Next Saturday if Lambert gets an introduction please welcome him and cheer him make him feel wanted. I wonder how many supporters who chanted and protested against Hughes regret their actions as I believe we are in a worse situation now than when Hughes was here. I sincerely hope weāve all learnt something, Stoke do not attract big names, those calling for Benitez, Koeman and others need to give their head a shake. Now you may think that my headās all over the place and Iām contradicting my self throughout this offering but simply put: I think Lambert is a poor appointment. I think the board has bottled it. I think Iād rather give an untested but up and coming Manager an opportunity rather than this appointment. We do have Lambert now, so we need to get behind him and the team, he is one of ours. I believe protests at games have a negative effect so I keep it to the media and forums. The author of this thread proves, to me, that some of our supporters are missing brain cells and will call for the Manager and the board to go should we ever run out of pies.
