Has the charisma of a dead slug
A factor ? When you are talking fine margins and a selling job needs doing then would you send in a dull as ditchwater accountant

Zero I expect. If QSF wanted to come he’d be here already, not the boards fault.

It happens more times than you might think. People say yes to jobs then overnight some nagging doubt changes their mind. When that happens its best for both parties the truth was out. If he was worried about seeing his family, ex wife, lifestyle whatever. He wouldn't be pulling up any trees for us. Surely we've seen with Jese, Palacios etc. Getting a contract signed that shouldn't have been costs both parties even more. I'm no big Scholes fan but the package was excellent by all accounts. The guy said yes you can't blame SCFC for this. As for getting rid of TS do we think having no CEO will help negotiations between players and managers in the next two weeks. I don't think so. We just need to move on. The problem is that Scholes could be the nagging doubt. He might have been speaking / dealing with him for a while and he’s thought I don’t want to work with this weasel. Who knows QSF might have even called MH and he coukd have had a word re the clubs broken promises re funds etc. Ultimately he’s not sold the project and that’s his job. By all accounts QSF. wasn’t happy in his current job clearly we’ve not sold ourself to be a better option. Easy for the press to blame QSF for changing his mind but something / someone has made him do that. 'Weasel' - your words to suit your opinion? Sell the project - Scholes could have sold it to all except QSF's wife - maybe it was the scouting and transfer arrangements that put him off and maybe Scholes had no authority to change them QSF not happy in his present job - media accounts, not any quotes from the man himself Maybe, after all, in others' eyes, we not a better option, whatever 'better' means Also no comment yet about the role of Peter and John Coates - they, as the two top dogs will have set the parameters within which Scholes can negotiate - do we know what those limits were and how they affected the discussions? I don't.

Scholes is a convenient target but he is operating from the instructions given to him by the Coates family. Anyone who thinks that just replacing him will improve everything is fooling themselves. Yes he is operating on the Coates families instructions but failing to get the job done. He was sent to seal the deal and he, for whatever reason, failed. He’s instructed to get players to sign and yet we always seem to watch our intended target sign for someone else while we end up with the cast offs nobody else is interested in. I think the Coates family are doing a great job but from there down this club is a joke. Big sort out needed.

If you want a job doing, do it yourself - A bit disappointed that John Coates didnt personally sack Hughes and left the dirty work to Scholes - then he should at least have accompanied Scholes to do the face to face final negotiations and shook hands. Personal touch may be the bit that persuaded him to stay.

Do you think he asked them ''where is the nearest Dominoes, we have to order a few in to celebrate!".....To which the Spaniards, once having googled dominoes, looked up in disgrace shaking their heads and gave stern looks of despair towards Quique You have obviously never been to Barcelona..... The place is a fucking Domino's mecca. It's littered with them, literally everywhere.

What happens if, on going to 'seal the deal', he finds the player/prospective manager has changed his view on some aspect of the deal. Does he insist there will be no changes (unable to authorise) or that the changes need referring back for Coates' OK? In the latter case, the response is 'no changes' - has he still failed?

I've been saying this since a few weeks before Hughes went. We need a fresh start and some fresh direction. Scholes and Cartwright need to go to - they are part of the problem. A manager has less responsibility nowadays i.e. transfers, contracts and managing budgets etc... Scholes and Cartwright are very much a part of the problem at Stoke currently and unless they go not much will change - any new manager will just be their patsy.

This is partly my issue with him. None of us really know the true ins and outs of any deal but Scholes just seems a bit of a ‘ Walter Softy ‘ to me and allows players /agents/ managers etc to walk all over us and dictate what they want. Lay the cards on the table, sign the deal or we move elsewhere immediately. Stoke City Football Club have become a joke and provide a great opportunity to either broker a better deal at your current job or just to get a few free meals out of it while Scholes attempts to get a signature. He’s quite capable of being a selfish, ruthless character except when he really needs to be.

QSF has probably done his homework overnight and realised that you can only shop in ALDI with the transfer budget that he’d get and the club is an utter circus behind the scenes and so thought f##k that
In my opinion this goes far deeper than Hughes

Those saying it's not his fault Well, let's look at the facts Peter sent Scholes to "seal the deal" so to speak. It was verbally agreed, but not signed. So, who's fault is that exactly? Scholes should have had his NatWest fucking banking app, his card reader at the ready, and when Sanches said yes. He should have rang Espanyol, transferred the 4 million. Got Qique to sign the prepared managerial contract's, and unveiled him today But no. Scholes presumably said, ah great! Thanks for verbally agreeing to become our new manager, I'll pop back tomorrow with the contracts to sign. Fucking wank Tony. Wank ! Pretty spot on that..... Him and cartwright going would be like signing a 20 goal a season striker, they are that much of the problem

That's it Bayern you hang the bloke without knowing the facts Another deal he's failed to close when everything is agreed. What more do we need to know? It happens way too often. He's a joke. Scholes can't control everything, if he's changed his mind there's nothing you can do.

You make Scholes seem like a breath of reason Well apparently we’ve spent the last two weeks sounding the guy out ( or being taken for another ride ) surely any issues were discussed then ? Or are you suggesting Scholes turned up in Spain on Thursday completely unannounced and we started talking at that point ? Everyone’s got their own views but time after time our targets slip away and we lose out and Scholes remains untouchable. There’s something inherently wrong at the club and has been for some time, maybe it’s time fingers were pointed and questions asked ? Scholes is slippery character when he needs to be.
