They had the chance earlier in the season with Chinese interest in the club.I bet they fuckin regret their decision now Saw you'd put that which made me think of it. 99% clutching at straws, it's that desperate now! Me clutching at straws?

They’re stalling so they can say at the end of the window. Due to the issues with the manager we couldn’t commit to spend and by the time a decision was made deals couldn’t be completed. You can just see it. Hughes is a patsy for the boards bigger agenda. Spot on been the same for 2 years , it’s why so many in the game think he should have walked but why should he , the irony is those who dint want to pay are going to losemuch of their banked £12m on replacing him or giving him a new contract and deservedly so as yet again their dithering has made his current position untenable they now have to do something

I've heard we're lining up a bid to bring famous ex-Stokie Terry Henfleet in as LMH's replacement. It'll be a big step up from his current role of training Sheffield Wednesday's U15 substitute GK's dog to herd sheep, mind.

Strange one this. Are the board saying it all depends on a result against a league 2 side?. So we nick a win and then get battered by the shit. Ok, got it now!.

More likely waiting for the deal with the Chinese/Russian/Arab billionaires* to go through making it their problem. * Delete as appropriate. They had the chance earlier in the season with Chinese interest in the club.I bet they fuckin regret their decision now How did you actually find out or hear about this supposed Chinese interest in the club? We seem a strange club for them be interested in. I can understand West Brom, Villa etc... Because their owners wanted to sell but we had a person or group people outright interested in the club? If they'd have been willing to inject cash in the club and fund good signings it's all well and good but then if they got bored we'd be up shit street.

It is way too quiet. No official statement. No interview with Coates.
Something is definitely up.

Could be worse, we could be Cleveland Browns fans. They've just gone 0 and 16 in the NFL season, following 1 and 15 last season and they have just confirmed their Head Coach (who has been with them the last 2 years) will be staying on for next season!

Even the Coventry thing has come from Sky, not Stoke issuing a statement. No statement about if he is staying, going, dead or on holiday. The silence isn't good and something is definitely going on. What that is, I don't know.

No mate, me. I'm trying and failing to come up with a good reason for radio silence from the club. Praying & hoping for a 6-0 at Coventry to give some positive spin This is the conundrum for supporters at this point! Unquestionably we want that result every time Stoke play. For me at least puts me in a good mood for the day/week. But at this point most of us have very little confidence Hughes can turn it around and feel we need a change. Will a result like that help keep him in his job? I will never pull for Stoke to lose, ever. But if we do an it helps push him out the door I may take a silver lining.

Evidently hiding something, and they're handling the whole situation VERY poorly. Shambolic actually. If they don't want Hughes, and they want someone else, as bad as he's been recently, it's shit of them to practically keep him to tick along the team till they find their man. It'll be a 'safe' choice like O'Neill or Pearson going on, or in my dreamland, sorting out a big bucks deal with Brendan. Whatever is happening, needs to be done before United or we're fucked.

There has to been anything from the club even regarding a meeting! I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if there hasn't been a meeting and it's business as usual with sparky taking the press conference tomorrow with a bewildered look on his face when asked about his position.

It all depends whether the relationship between LMH and the Board has completely broken down or not. If it has broken down - then I can see the Board doing exactly as you suggest. I'm not saying I agree with that course of action. If the relationship is still all hunky dory, then all of this really makes no sense at all. I'm becoming more and more convinced that there has been a complete and utter breakdown.

Maybe nothing is being announced as they compromise on a payoff! There by they can't exactly come out and back him or sack him until it's sorted!?! I dunno!

If they don't back him publicly, then he'll know he's toast and he'll know that the press will know he's toast. If they're sticking with him, then come out and say so.
