Great crosser of the ball nice skills looked composed just needs games to gain experience now and to grow might make the odd mistake but if he does he should be allowed to continue to learn and not be automatically dropped for the odd misdemeanor. Expect Hughes to drop him vs Huddersfield!!!!!😂

Decent performance from him today and fantastic to see him breaking through, a few mistakes though which I think he’ll learn from quickly. One was playing Rondon onside for the goal, everybody else stepped up in a pretty easy offside trap and he was caught running towards his own goal. West Brom wouldn’t score easy goals like that against a settled, experienced defence and I don’t think we’d concede that if the back 4 had been playing together for a while.
I’m sure Edwards will pick that side of the game up pretty fast, he looks like a cracking prospect.

I saw him a few times in last years youth cup run,I was very impressed then with the attacking part of his game, but was less convinced about the defending part, but today I thought that by enlarge he defended well and should definitely be 1st choice right back, it's not as though there is much competition. Hughes should persevere with him now ,even if he makes the odd mistake it's the only way he will improve.

What better way to learn than being in at the deep end? You still aren't answering the question. Is edwards good enough to play or not? The fact hes played two games already and didn't come in to todays huge game making his debut is pretty astute if you believe it was deliberate. I dont know whether it was or not but those games clearly put him in good stead for today. He got closer to his man, he tried to stop crosses and he grew into the game. He also sermed determined not to let oppositionplayers run in off the back of him so hes clearly learned a lot in those two games Fuck me you sound like my instructor when I served my time a good 37/38 years a go😄Sorry Dave I don’t believe that’s the right way of doing things to young lad but obviously you do Is he good enough to play or not?

Is he good enough to play or not? Honestly I’ve not seen enough of him to make a considered opinion How can you even begin to moan about him playing in any game then? If hes the best option on the day he plays. If he isn't, he doesnt. Its that simple. The oppisition is irrelevant. All that matters is whether hes the best option on the day.

Hes not really that good so should only play against the crap teams in the division. Those two games clearly stood him in very good stead for today so whether by design or good luck, happy days. You are moaning for the sake of moaning. Are you pejic in disguise? Here you go this is your thoughts on him the other week don't feel sorry for him in the slightest. He's a professional footballer who should be desperate to make an impact. He's weak, he doesn't track or spot runners off the back of him and he's been heavily involved in every goal the team has conceded whilst he's been on the pitch. It's a harsh truth but right now he's a million miles away from being good enough. Think back to Andy Griffin and his debut as a 17 year old. Edwards is nowhere near that level. Would he have done so well today if it was his first ever appearance? You dont know and nor do i which takes us back right to where we started this chat. You think hughes is a tosser for playing him in two games that we'd have lost anyway whilst I'd say those two games helped him make a positive contribution to a game where losing wasnt an option.

The two games hes already played clearly helped him yet still these fuckers are moaning about whether he should have played previously. If edwards plays on boxing day and does well again are we saying he has to be dropped for chelsea?

Why is it riduculous? If hes good enough to play hes good enough to play against anyone. It's a ridiculous thing to say. So you're saying he should be able to play as well against Man City's forwards as he can against some championship plodders in the West Brom team. Hardly.

Do you not think his two games to date actually helped him today?

I think the main issue is that, considering we sold Bardsley, he has probably been the best option for right back since the start of the season. He should have been starting there in place of Diouf or Johnson, or at least making the odd sub appearance later on in games, rather than being thrown in away at Man City then Spurs without a sniff between.
Was excited to him feature in a game where we weren't expecting to get hammered. Knew he had a reputation for having one of the best deliveries in the whole senior squad but hadn't heard a great deal about his defensive ability. Weirdly, I didn't see anything that spectacular about his crossing to be honest, can't remember any that particularly stood out. I do however remember a few occasions when his opponent(s) tried to take him on and he just seemed to calmly take the ball off them and walk away.
Overall I thought he had a steady game and didn't look like an 18 year old making his home debut. Given the circumstances I'm sure Choupo-Moting won't begrudge him taking the MOTM award.
