No comment pissed me off more from Hughes than the one where he said there has always been an 'undercurrent' towards him. At that point I called him an arrogant, hard done to, prick and I'll stand by that post. I should have included 'precious' given the fact that some plonker rolling up in a yellow van 5 years ago still seems to influence his relationship with the support.
There has been lots to like about him but his failure to put his hand up and admit that his issues are self created is narking me. If it turns out that he is part of a greater Stoke City experiment whereby he is given players and asked to coach them by the likes of Cartwright and Scholes then I would have an element of sympathy for him. If that is the case, I would have had more respect for him if he had walked out and exposed the situation.
Based on the current facts, he appears to be the architect of his own downfall and having digs at supporters, as he has now done on a few occasions, will not help the atmosphere.

In answer to your first point there has though, some people still point blank refuse to give him credit for the first two and a half years of his tenure which is ridiculous......

These things are irreversible, once the genie got out of the bottle as it did at about ten past four on Saturday, it isn't going back in..ever.
It's all a bit unseemly but there is only one way it ends now and the longer it lingers on, the more unseemly it will become.
The ball is in Coates court now.

Yes, it does. But, you haven’t spoken any truth, so don’t praise yourself. The truth is that Burnley are in 4th place and, with some slightly different choices, we could have been there instead! Have you been to a game this year? In fact i'll answer that myself, no. You don't think that with different choices we could have done as well as Burnley? And no, I have been unfortunate enough to attend only 1 stoke game since 1968. Howver, even though I am not from Stoke, and have only been there once, it seems that i am still more willing than you to give my wholehearted support to the team. I guess you're kind of like those players that just disappear when things get tough?

Spunking a whole weekend and £300 + to see them give up at 55 minutes? Get a grip

At the end of the day somebody has got to be at the top, others at the middle and others at the bottom. Its natural that those at the bottom won't be happy with the Managers, players, board or whatever but the personal abuse isn't necessary. nobody goes out to lose and its a shame to read some of the shit aimed in the Managers direction no doubt from some that are shit at their own jobs.
It always amazes me at the abuse Pulis still receives off some despite the fact that he delivered our most successful period in over quarter of a century

Agreed. He might have had a decidedly iffy year that's now transcended into a full on shitstorm, but the way some are going on is quite sickening to be honest. You'd think he'd taken us from the PL to League Two. God knows he's made a mess of what was something really promising but he's not done it on purpose. It's been 2 years of drivel. And it doesn't matter if it's on purpose or not, it's the manner of it. It's been so obvious what's been going wrong and he does nothing to addresxs it. But horrible personal abuse is still 100% unacceptable. He isn't a murderer, rapist or nonce for God's sake!

Some of the personal abuse being dished out on here for Hughes is way above and beyond what he deserves. He’s lost it. The players. The crowd. It’s gone. Obvious for all to see. But the level of abuse being thrown his way is shameful. I’d say some of you should hang your heads in shame. But to feel shame you’d probably need a couple of brain cells to rub together. Some posters on here have really shown their true colours in recent weeks. Sad, angry, twisted. Pitiful. I agree. And it's even worse when they get on to Pulis.

Did they really give up last night? Against Man City were they trying to chase the game and then got caught? Do you think that in this day and age you still have to be there to know if they played well or not? If you measure your "Stokieness" by how much you spend every week, then that's a pretty sad indictment.

I've always used the same three words as quoted to me by a good friend who still follows Qpr home and away whilst based in warrington - when I asked him what he thought when Hughes was first appointed- at Stoke City and they were:- joyless - arrogant - cock

I don't think I have tbh. I've questioned his ability to manage and have been for years. The odd insult may have been thrown in there out of frustration but unlike TP, I really do like Hughes. I just wish he'd leave.

For me, he has only himself to blame For the fact the board gave him fifty million quid to spend and he spent it on imbula berahino and wimmer There is no one else to blame. Fans who personally dont like him and want him replaced have no need to be personal or abusive He has dug his own grave by showing the board and the Fans, that even if you gave him substantial funds, he wouldnt know how to sign the right players Talking about a seperate issue on motd the other week charlie adam said... A manager is only as good as his players And that truth means hughes is done for. There is simply no need to abuse a manager signing players not up to the job. Its gauranteed he Will be sacked Its just a matter of when.

Have to agree. The use of the word "cunt" to describe him (and Kevin Wimmer) is getting beyond the pale. Please cut it out eh? My late father gave me advice which I've always carried with me - that if you're in the right you can afford to be civil, and if you're in the wrong you're a fool to be anything else. There are many things in football which make me angry and upset, but in my FSF and FA Council work, I ensure that I am always polite and never personal, both in writing and face to face. Whatever view one takes of the abilities of our manager and some of the players (who IMHO are doing their best even if it isn't good enough) I think that some of the language I've read today on here and elsewhere directed at them, and in some cases at fellow fans who happen to take a different view, is distasteful and deplorable, and at least as far as I'm concerned, detracts significantly from the points being made. It is an unfortunate feature of modern social media that some people use it to express themselves in terms which I suspect they wouldn't ever do face to face, behind the anonymity of a username.

He will get as bad if not worse abuse from those that sit behind the dugout. Muttley can attest to that I would have thought. 😂 And this is the same as that, sheer frustration that manifests itself as abuse.

Sitting watching the match in the ground is totally different to typing in the warmth a day or two after. We all become excited and irrational during a match, putting messages on here is totally different. When you type you have time to decide what to say. Some on here take time to decide what will be most controversial, offensive or make them look like some kind of Billy Big Bollocks.

It's like the pub and I'd happily call Hughes a useless cunt to mates in the pub. I don't see why it should be different here. He can take it but he never should even see it and if he does more fool him.
