We need Boskamp back asap! He's the only manager with bollocks to attack and outscore the opposition...best manger we've had since Lou Maccari.

Oh absolutely Galtier is the best choice but I was using Garcia as a specific response to Lordb's point to the claim that Coates wouldn't appoint a foreign manager who hadn't coached in England - he has.
And I absolutely would take him ahead of any of the realistic British candidates.
Martin O'Neil? Give me a break.
No I'm not saying he wouldn't appoint a foreign manager (although he will always favour British).I am saying he won't appoint anyone who hasn't managed in the Premier League. He would see that as a gamble. In my view that dogmatic approach is wrong. However given that is his mindset, given Hughes time is up, given he can't appoint Pulis and given the list of managers who fit Coates criteria who would take the job right now is fucking wank then the only option is to appoint a manager till the end of the season. Can't see anyone better who fits all that than Martin O'Neill.
Oh don't get me wrong, I think he will go for Martin O'Neil but for me, that makes Coates a major part of the problem.

Martin O'Neill, let's face it, would be an utterly ridiculous appointment that would have fans of the other 19 clubs in hysterics and mentally inking us in for relegation

Why would martin O'Neil take this job its twenty games from being a championship job , it's a dreadful poison chalice with a terrible squad , three decent promoted teams , no budget and some rivals about to spend big whatever they do now IRS too little too late all they can do is start the recovery process

I think the next manager will be an Italian with Premier League experience, who has won the Champion's League.

Ego, he will believe that he can save us.
His stock couldn't be any lower, if we go down, then so what, Stoke were always going down anyway it wouldn't affect his standing in the game.
But on the other hand if he keeps us up ... he's raised his value.
It's win, win for him.
He'd rip our hands off for the job.

I don't think it would take much to persuade him but I'm not overly convinced he's any good. I mean he says he wanted a break, that's what I meant on the persuading part. Oh did he, I hadn't realised, don't they all say that though.

How many more times does Coates have to say “let’s wait for two more games and see what happens”? We were out coached again and the man is still in the job. Unbelievable.

I agree the lack of real investment during the summer is biting us on the arse. He is investing less now % of his wealth than his first stint

Not sure there's any way Hughes can ride this one out. Once you've got this kind of dissent with fans pretty universally having made up their minds, there's really no way back, and any reprieve is very temporary
There's got to be a case for getting rid today and getting a caretaker in for Saturday.
Wonder if Coates genuinely thinks a win against West Ham could spark a slow turnaround?

I would guess Coates is fully aware there is no comeback for Hughes but wants to buy himself sometime to get a new man in.
