This is exactly the reason as to why polls like this really don't give clear indications.
after a defeat or 2 it's obvious the fanbase will be unhappier. should we win the next 2 and go 10th I am pretty confident that 70% would reduce significantly, as is the fickle nature of football fans.
personally I am not sure still. I would probably lean towards giving him the upcoming run of so called easier fixtures. a good run could put us top half and all would be forgiven again...

Pragmatist who can also incorporate flair and keep us out of harm’s way. Then ride off into the sunset. My point exactly, we won't go down anyway, so what would be the point ? I’m a lot less confident of that than I was.

Frustrates me as any other manager would start or atleast have both Imbula and Bojan in our team.
Two of my favorite players and they are gone? They could make a difference to us right now.

Yeah it's the biggest 'if only'. If 'on their day' was every saturday we'd be sorted. Same with Marc Muniesa. We've seen brilliant glimpses, that's why I don't want us to shut the curtains just yet.

Not if we play like we did on Saturday we won’t. First half for sure, but one of them penaltys given, and different day. We’d still have barely just got away with an undeserved point even then. For ages now we’ve been shit at both ends of the pitch, that only ends one way.

Nah, no point panicking, we'll be fine. Not if we play like we did on Saturday we won’t. You're both right. We were bad on Saturday - and play like that we will be relegated. However we under performed - this squad is capable of playing far better than that and I believe Hughes is capable of getting them to play to their full potential (and I know some don't - we're all entitled to and opinion - or statement of fact for the bonkers egoists among us). So don't panic but hope we don't play like we did on Saturday, But If we are playing like that on a regular basis from now until Xmas feel free to panic.

So imbula who was given half a season after the cup exit(and after two good ganes dissapeared) and bojan who was anonymous after his injury( who hughes persevered with too) were given a chance and were playing you'd be happy? Id argue that the reason he is in this mess is he stuck too long with imbula, and the games he gave bojan(wolves fa cup springs to mind) he was ineffectual! We have a good squad and good players. But like most they struggle to perform when under pressure from the crowd. As supporters, particularly when we had a crap team ( who from our first season would get in this team(3 tops)) we were the extra man. On Saturday we were the extra man from bournemouth. It was embarrasing! Crap or not we should lift our team not crucify it!

Did you go to the cup game against the Wolves? Bojan was shite and looked like he couldn't give a shit. Imbula was a hell of a lot worse.

The wolves game was bad, the Leicester game was very good (in a midfield with Imbula i might add). The reason we are in this mess is because the manager doesn't seem to know how to utilise the players he has properly, and because the players aren't playing well enough. Imbula is an excellent example, we finished last season with 3 in midfield (Allen, Whelan, Cameron), there was nowhere near enough drive from the middle, and we didn't play Imbula, who's only skill is drive from midfield. We also loaned out Bojan despite having no number 10.

Our best managers over the years have tended to be pragmatic. I’m in no doubt at all that Hughes is now on borrowed time and the only sensible and realistic alternatives that I can think of are:
Big Sam (unlikely but not impossible) Dyche Michael O’Neil Chris Wilder

After the hatred towards the end of Pulis era and his hoofball, you seriously think Sam is an option? Why would Sean Dyche come here? Michael O'Neil - Relegation, zero experience in the English leagues as a manager Chris Wilder - Relegation, someone that has managed 2 or 3 lower league teams, surely an insane risk? I accept Hughes is having a shocker of a run but this thread simply shows that really there are no sensible options

We also loaned out Bojan despite having no number 10. I'd agree with some of that, but if you really thought bojan was good against Leicester you should watch again. Teams defend from the front, and in the second half they could pass out from the back at leisure. That was shocking bearing in mind we had a numerical advantage. The wolves game he and imbula let us all down. Imbula looked great at times and gave glimpses of why we bought him. More often than not though he drifted around.

Looks like the Baggies fans are in open revolt about Pulis. It'll be interesting to see if either he or Mark Hughes can turn it around from here. Never easy when things have go to this stage www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/opinion-alarming-tony-pulis-quote-13812182The defeat, but more the aimless manner of the performance, does appear to have marked a watershed level of dissatisfaction. And not just with the more measured element of the Albion fanbase, but within the corridors of power.

Could uncle Peter be waiting to see whether or not Ireland qualify for the World Cup? Then he knows if Martin O'Neill is available?
