They've got De Bruyne and we've got Wimmer
What a useless waste of £18m that was!

It doesn't look like a good buy, does it.

Still early, but I'm mentally starting to categorise him with Arismendi, Palacios and Imbula - which isn't great company to be keeping

About as useful as Boris Johnson’s hairdresser.
He looks terrible.

He will be playing in the Austrian 3rd division after his contract at Stoke is up.

I'm starting to feel like even when we get a good result, I cannot get it out of my mind -hughes has spent 50 million quid on Wimmer, Imbula and Berahino.
Astonishing

When you realise what we've spent 18m on again...

Really struggling to see how these big money purchases are decided upon to be honest. Either really poor scouting or mind bogglingly bad decision making. It's one thing to take a risk on a player who's career has stalled when they cost around £5mill but using that as the main criteria and then paying near twenty is very blinkered one dimensional decision making.

I'm not having there isn't a better defender in the lower leagues for a fraction of the price. Absolutely lazy scouting again.

I agree that he hasn't looked good so far. To be fair I think it is difficult when the defence has been so unsettled with injuries. BMI hasn't looked as good as he did last season either. Hopefully once the defenders have developed an understanding then things will improve. In the short term until we get the skipper back, BMI, Cameron and Zouma look our best bet.

Things aren't looking too clever that much I have to admit.
If this goes tits up you do wonder if Hughes will be able to carry on.

Nowhere near as good as Wollscheid.
People can laugh at me all they want but that's the truth.

Last minute panic mixed with dogs home Stoke, type thinking. Not well managed at all.

I don’t know what Spurs or our club ever saw in him, he is weak aerially and terrible at tracking, he isn’t physical like Zouma, Indi or Ryan. He can’t tackle and have you seen his distribution since his start here? Seriously 😒 what attributes did they say, you know what he’d be a great first team player? I’ve seen more out of Souttar and our under 21’s!

I hate to dump on a player so early but I think I’d honestly say he has less time than Wolly had to impress me given his ornate ability to not even do basic things like mark or clear his line. If only Wolly could run at PL speed.

Was never convinced it was a good deal on the basis of what Spurs originally paid. I don't remember many on here questioning it at the time though?
