Will be a good solid signing in the coming years, when he settles in.

Will be a good solid signing in the coming years, when he settles in. Bold statement cotton. We shall see. I’m not writing him off, I’m just wondering what they saw because I literally haven’t seen one good thing about his play in his his short time here or his last couple of years at Spurs. You’d think someone that expensive would at least be a decent shout currently the evidence makes him look worse than Wolly and as much a flop as Imbula, without the good debut and just as much money!

On the evidence thus far no which is feckin frightening, who scouts these expensive signings Stevie fuckin Wonder, Imbula crap, Babyrhino crap and now this how the hell the manager has kept his job is beyond me 50 m pounds worth of crap. It would have been pretty difficult to scout a player who never played.

Even Wollscheid had the occasional good game.
Another £18m spunked by Hughes and Cartwright.

There was no scouting, Pulis declared interest & we knew we could out bid him.

With the implosion of Imbula, Hughes desperately needs Wimmer or Bera to find form and fast.
To have one big money flop is forgivable, two is borderline, three is a major problem.

On the evidence of the games he's played he looks totally out of his league.....i don't know wether it Hughes or the hierarchy that sanctions these expensive flops we keep buying but someone should be made to answer.... A club like stoke can't afford to keep blowing millions down the drain.

I don’t know what Spurs or our club ever saw in him, he is weak aerially and terrible at tracking, he isn’t physical like Zouma, Indi or Ryan. He can’t tackle and have you seen his distribution since his start here? Seriously 😒 what attributes did they say, you know what he’d be a great first team player? I’ve seen more out of Souttar and our under 21’s! Is he better than Wolly? No.

There's still time for him, he's been out for a long time, not seen today, but it is Man City, they can make the best defenders look like champ standard on current form.

I wouldn’t lump best defender and Wimmer in the same sentence. Bit of a stretch, he looks League One standard currently versus several PL sides. Not just Man City.

Clearly my point wasn't he's one of the best, just that Man City could rip anyone apart in their current form, he looks rusty I agree, but he still has time to improve, not all players hit the ground running.

Agreed. How long you think he gets though? Just wondering, because in his current form, he’s making Wolly and Muni leaving look like a bad switch and with Souttar and Sweeney wanting to be in the mix, I personally don’t see very long if he keeps having mares.

It's hard when they cost so much, but no, i always think of some of our centre halfs of the past who gave their all despite their limitations. He seems average at best sadly. Wolly was better if somewhat eccentric

There's no doubt he's struggling. We can all see that. This follows on from Imbula and possibly Berahino.
My question here is who is scouting these players, who is choosing these players and who is having the final say on whether we sign these players?
Is Hughes just towing the line and going along with the grand master plan of self sufficiency and some sort of moneyball or is he really picking these players? If he is then it's a hell of a legacy to try and turn round, nevermind justify given the drop in net spend.
Rightly or wrongly, he has absolutely no wiggle room and all of his signings just have to work. Maybe that is the problem here?

Will be a good solid signing in the coming years, when he settles in. Nailed it! He clearly hasn't been bought in as a stalwart for this season. The only reason he's playing is Injuries. He's obviously a future investment for when Shawcross hangs up his boots, which no one thought would be September 2017. Give the lad a chance.

No as he's played 4 games in a mixed back line. I'll give him time to make his case....it's not champ manager
