Poor excuse sorry, it's about his own performances his ability to carry out the tasks required of him as a PL defender. It still has an affect regardless. Why ?, a good player looks better with better players around him, a poor player looks poor whoever he plays with it isn't rocket science, it could be he is carrying an injury if he is why is the manager playing him either way this falls at the feet of the man who signed him, £50 million on three players who are basically not up to the job is pretty damming whichever way you cut it.

And to think this was the player brought in as Wollscheids replacement. £18m well and truly spunked up the wall. Given Wolfy was bought in to replace Huth we now have Wimmer bought in to replace Wolfy, all in all £21 million to replace Huth sold for £3 million, neither are fit to lace Huth's boots even now what a clusterfuck by Mark and his team why is he still employed as our manager can anyone give put up a valid argument as to why ? Good point actually, there was a gamble although a more sensible one to bring in what was a younger German international who was well rated and move Huth on who looked like he would struggle to transition to more responsibility of bringing the ball out. We have then moved on his replacement who, barring about 4 howlers, had shown that he was good enough and more imortantanty given the current situation, reliable to actually play week in week out in the Prem. Without dragging the great Wollschied argument back up if we are looking at him and Kevin we are now £18m in the hole having acquired a worse player...crazy! But at least he runs properly and as yet not a hint of a glove in sight.

Indeed so why did Hughes freeze the wolfman out ? , he sold Huth off on the cheap to bring in his younger replacement then we had ear ache gate and he disappeared turning up in Germany where he failed to make a positive impact. Makes me wonder why this happened, then we got shot for fuck all back, Hughes then invests a shed load of money on a CB from Spurs who so far looks worse than the wolfman, is this manager fit for purpose ?

I certainly think that as much as I was a fan of Wollschied, there were clearly temperamental/attitude issues but again this where good strong management comes into play. That then leads to another problem which is if the manager isn't fit for purpose who do bring in?

Having watched game of the day, I tell you who was bad, sobhi. Bloody hell, you can see why he isn't getting a game.

He is still settling in, he has had lots of different defensive partners so had no chance to develop a proper understanding and he has been playing whilst carrying a knock.
However, he lacks physicality, is not quick, seems not to read the game very well and even his much vaunted distribution has been no great shakes.
He may come good given time, and I really hope he does, but so far he has been dramatically worse than we all must have expected from an 18m international defender.

The same way strikers work with a partner up front, you know what they are going to do etc when you play regularly together and react rather than be hesitant not knowing.

The big question...
Do we look better with him in the team ? Or out of the team ?

True, and it's baffling that we saw fit to splurge on this one area of the pitch when we penny pinch elsewhere.

Spend that 18m on Zouma and we would all be ecstatic. Yes, I know he is not for sale but it is a player of something close to his quality that 18m should buy. Spurs' 4m purchase of Wimmer probably got his value about right.

The interesting thing about wimmer, is that like wolly he is not quick , so why sign him for the premier league 2017
It was highlighted on motd that David luiz was getting done for pace v zaha at palace and David luiz is a much better footballer than wolly and wimmer
If Hughes thinks pace is an asset for the likes of zouma and BMI then why is signing the opposite in wolly and wimmer?

I think Wimmer will prove to be the final straw when the day of reckoning comes in May.

Is that the only KPI he's being judged on? One deal? Get it wrong and you can't be praised at all? No it's not the only mistake has being judged on. To put it bluntly, we are taking twatting after twatting after twatting on an all too familiar basis and yet for some strange reason Mark Hughes is getting off Scott free with some supporters. It's baffling. Agreed . The bloke concluded after our pre season, that berahino was the man in form and joselu was the one to get rid off ! That's ridiculous, after either playing well for us or just going missing in action, joselu finally looked like he was leading the line , creating chances , missing chances and scoring goals ( to everyone in stoke except mark hughes) And berahino looked out of his depth ( to everyone in stoke except mark hughes)
