We better or going to be questionable insight into Hughes ability to manage as there is for his ability to select and setup a defence.

The Premier League is set up to allow the top sides to flourish Yes, but he didn’t persist with a back three with no fullbacks or young wingbacks in his sides for a season and never left a side depending on a weak as piss clubfooted defender. He always had coverage in his sides especially the defence, three players deep for positions at times. The ineptitude of Hughes being a stubborn idiot grows each week and there is no blaming the previous manager five years in.

Woodgate could defend at times, Collins I’ll give ya that one 😂 but both of them x 17 still only just covers wimpers fee. Think about that fuck up in the grand scheme of things.

Money in football is completely different now. Palacios 8 mill Kenwyne Jones 8 mill 5.5 for Kitson, I’d still take a £1 mil cb like woodgate with desire from the championship wanting to earn their place versus a foreign £18 mil Spurs reject. Irrespective of the money those two cbs mentioned actually could do the basics for way less even if you calculated the difference in money that football had then versus now.

Who are these £1m woodgates that you speak of? The last woodgate we had got subbed in the first hgalf after having a new one torn v wolves.

I wish we could sub wimper indefinitely in the first half today. Woodgate has several good matches for stoke but choose the one he didn’t show up in, quell the surprise. What do you do with a player who cost 17 times as much and can’t even get his head to the ball or clear it in defence? 😂

It's a must not lose game. Ironically, he'll batten down the hatches for this one.

Now a must win for oh so many reasons ! Ah, only 14 replies before the inevitable 'must win' comment. Why is it 'must win'? Will we go down if we don't? Will Hughes be sacked? Curious.

SCFC 75 - when you've had the run of fixtures we've had with, points at such a premium - and then, you begin to play teams like Bournemouth that are in and around you and, in truth, you should expect to win
and immediately after a hammering like we had today
they become 'must wins'
is that really so hard to comprehend ?

Think we all know how this is going to go.......they are struggling, Defoe off form......get your money on a win for them if you have any sense.

Bournemouth played very good today. They didn't concede 5 or 6 and could of nicked a point at the end.

Bottom three if we lose next week given tomorrow and next weeks games and that would be a fair reflection of this squad .10 games is the benchmark and we will have Watford away to complete 10

Bottom three if we lose next week given tomorrow and next weeks games and that would be a fair reflection of this squad .10 games is the benchmark and we will have Watford away to complete 10 I'm surprised it's taken you this long to start. Let's be honest and despite any sensible argument you're never going to be happy until your annual prediction is proved right. With the exception of us and the top 7 if you'd have predicted the same thing every season you'd have been right a lot sooner.

Not too many players are making an irresistible case for themselves.
The team kind of picks itself if the priority is to give ourselves a proper striker up front in Diouf which I think it should be, with just an either/or at wing-back and the third centre-half depending on fitness issues.
Can't really pick Wimmer or Jese on current form. Their departures at half-time said it all.
Butland
Zouma-Indi-Cameron or Pieters
Edwards or Cameron-Allen-Fletcher-Pieters or Sobhi
Shaq-Choupo
Diouf
