Think we all know how this is going to go.......they are struggling, Defoe off form......get your money on a win for them if you have any sense. Well Said, but I am not betting on this game.. TEST

In all fairness, if we lose at home to these twats we dont deserve to be in the Premier League, this is a huge game for the manager's future and the fan base. I think that the atmosphere next Saturday will be similar to Southampton - nervous.

Often happens in football after a tonking. Plus Bournemouth are not Man City Yes I do understand what you are saying. It does happen that teams will give that little bit extra to prove themselves. However, I sense a lot of anxiety in the side at the moment and it isn't an enjoyable experience watching Stoke at this time. Anxiety in the crowd and the team. I don't think anyone in the team or management structure really knows where we're going now and satisfaction is taken by just staying in the Premier League so they can enjoy their summers. I for one don't think they will keep a clean sheet because of the general anxiety around and unless there is a change, a big change and take what you want from that, I don't see the anxiety dissipating in the near future. For me, I think we have hit the ceiling now. We are in similar scenarios to the likes of Fulham, Wigan and Bolton now where we are just trying to stay up and not much else. The football is boring to watch, we never really threaten the other team's goal in a sustained fashion and there is not much in the way of a plan B or C. Some of the choices made by the manager in relation to forwards are proving to be damp fireworks to say the least. I don't think Berahino is ever likely to recapture what he had based on our style of play up front, which is desperate to say the least. And most of our defending is desperate as well. Feeling a bit pissed off today with it all. And I so see us conceding next week, clubs like Bournemouth will come here looking to win now. We are no longer anything to worry about. Rant over.

Massive game. Which we will win I'm convinced. Hopefully Edwards is fit as his pace and crossing could be a huge asset. If not then Doug right back and berahino up front.

Time to move on and get 3 points V the Cherries.
No doubt they'll be looking to bring all that gamesmanship to the Bet 365 next week.
God knows what the selection will be but it looks like Joe and Indi will be back to full fitness which should give us a boost and Edwards looks like he could be back. I don't see Ryan being back for a while yet so I'll go with
.............Jack............ ...Geoff....Zouma.....Indi... Edwards..................Eric .......Fletch....Allen....... .............Shaq............ ........Diouf....Choupa......
I'd like us to go physical with them 2 strong pacey frontmen with Shaq orchestrating behind them. Edwards clearly has a good right peg on him and shouldn't need to do as much defending next week.

Big game, mate.
Diouf simply has to start up front.

I just look at the squad and it's so unbalanced. No proven quality at RB no cover for DM. Really need Ryan back soon to free up Geoff and potentially Zouma for some muscle in the middle.

Now a must win for oh so many reasons ! Ah, only 14 replies before the inevitable 'must win' comment. Why is it 'must win'? Will we go down if we don't? Will Hughes be sacked? Curious. Wouldn't you rather have a 'must win' game now rather than April? Bournemouth at home- it wouldn't do any harm to win in our position would it.

There is no such thing as a 'must win' game in October! I absolutely agree, it would be good to win, yes - as is every game. Your point is about April is very valid though... If we were in April, with only maybe 3 games left, then it may be termed as such - but calling it must win or a six pointer now is comical.

Expect lots of time wasting & players throwing themselves to the floor & cheating like Bournemouth did last season.
I sincerely hope we give them a good beating.

No excuse whatsoever. This team needs beating, and beating properly. Last season at home against these was one of the worst, cheating, play acting, time wasting games, by the opposition that I have ever witnessed. We must put them to the sword. The bear pit must rise up again, and give the shower both barrels!!

Most of us expected to lose yesterday, most of us expected a stuffing, we all hoped that we could sneak something but it wasn't to be. So now we move forward to next Saturday v Bournemouth a very important game because after yesterday when playing a less glamorous opposition.
1. Can Mark Hughes lift and motivate the team?
2. Can the players lift them selves?
3. Can we the fans motivate ourselves?
Here's hoping we can

If Edwards is fit: Butland Edwards Zouma Indi Pieters Allen Fletcher Shaqiri Jese Choupo Berahino If not: Butland Zouma Cameron Indi Diouf Allen Fletcher Pieters Shaqiri Berahino Choupo I don't know what Jesé has done to earn a start. For me I'd go .......................Jack.................. .........Geoff...Zouma....Indi....... Edwards...Allen..Fletch......Eric ..............Shaq.......Choupa....... .......................Diouf.................. I like that, Cobs. Get on the blower to Les.

If Edwards is fit: Butland Edwards Zouma Indi Pieters Allen Fletcher Shaqiri Jese Choupo Berahino If not: Butland Zouma Cameron Indi Diouf Allen Fletcher Pieters Shaqiri Berahino Choupo So if Edwards is fit, you'd drop Diouf from the starting XI completely? Wow ... If Edwards is fit, I'd actually go with your first team but with Diouf leading the line and Berahino replacing Jese in the hole just off him.

Harsh choice i know, i just prefer Berahino's hold up play against a team that we'll likely have on the back foot. Completely get playing Diouf though

I hate the "must win" comment which pervades football now. We all said what a clown Robbie Savage was years ago when he deemed our first fixture of the season a must win. Forget who it was against but we won and our opponents stayed up too. So obviously bloody wasn't. There are very very very few real must win games and Saturday is certainly not one of them.

Diouf has to start, we have so little pace in the team as it is.

More likely we'll need a Paolo Rossi type jack in the box striker who can play in a busy box and sniff chances from loose balls out.

We will have to find some way of getting round Bournmouth players who are withering on the ground looking for free kicks and trying to get our players booked or sent off.

Money in football is completely different now. Palacios 8 mill Kenwyne Jones 8 mill 5.5 for Kitson, I’d still take a £1 mil cb like woodgate with desire from the championship wanting to earn their place versus a foreign £18 mil Spurs reject. Irrespective of the money those two cbs mentioned actually could do the basics for way less even if you calculated the difference in money that football had then versus now. Not quite with you there Woodgate was very poor for us. He did not play in the Championship until after he left us. 1998 - 2002 Leeds United PL 2002 - 2004 Newcastle United PL 2004 - 2006 Real Madrid LL 2006 - 2007 Middlesborough 2007 - 2011 Spurs 2011 - 2012 Stoke City 17 appearances pay-as-you-play deal? 2012 - 2016 Middlesborough
