We need to win this one, to keep the momentum! I think we can do it.

Just cut out giving the ball away so cheaply at times and we can really be a good team.

Everton (A): shouldn't have lost, we put in a decent enough performance on the opening game to at least come away with a draw.....poor goal to concede defensively!!!
Arsenal (H): won!!!
West Brom (A): this one was there for the taking IMO....we took the game to them, we looked the better side (especially first half) but lacked anything in the final 3rd, until Crouch came on!!!
Man Utd (H): fantastic team performance against new improved Manchester United team who are going to be title contenders again this season!!!
All in all, we've looked a pretty decent team so far this season, and with a bit more urgency and accuracy up top, we could be a handful for anyone, do our homework, and they've got more to worry about than we have!!!

It will be another tough game, but we have to go up there believing we can stay at least unbeaten since the opening day.
Like a few have said, if we score first I really fancy us to take all 3 points. Could be similar to the West Brom game - Rafa will surely make them hard to beat. Need to stick in, defend as well as we have and take our chances. Shaq's definitely due a goal.
The team must be confident. It's been a great start to the season, in terms of points and performances. There's one or two users of this board who must be feeling a bit foolish after some of the doom mongering before a ball was even kicked.

Not seen a thread on this yet, so thought i'd start it off. Think Jese struggled as a striker and Choupo looked like a fantastic winger. Saido is due a start, had his best game for us against Arsenal and did well holding up in his limited cameo vs Man Utd. Wouldn't change the defence, depending on Ryan's injury.
Butland
Zouma BMI/Shawcross Wimmer
Diouf Allen Fletcher Pieters
Shaq Choupo Moting
Berahino
Hughes will start the same as Man Utd with BMI/Shawcross in for Cameron.

I don't agree that Berahino is due a start. I thought he was pretty anonymous in his 20 minutes on Saturday and Jese played well.
Ryan in for Geoff, maybe BMI in for Wimmer, and everything else unchanged would be my ideal team.

They've beaten Swansea and Wet Sham. If we have any hopes of winning ANY away games this season, this one should be pencilled in as a potential win. What bits I've seen of them, they are utter utter dog shite.

Interesting game.

I thought Jese really struggled honestly, his touch didn't seem to be there and most things he tried didn't come off, I can see the idea of having that pace and skill in behind when counter attacking, but I'd like to see how Saido would fair leading the line with this rejuvenated team. If he can keep up the runs he gave in the Arsenal game he might be the goalscorer needed to complete our attack. I think Hughes will start the same team though, with either Ryan or BMI in for Cameron.

Not to dampen the spirits but I reckon we could turn in a proper Stoke performance here. After a surprisingly good start to the season, I can see us just being a bit shit. I'll go for another draw, maybe even a 0-0.

I thought Berahino played well when he came on and although I think you are right in that Jesse struggled at times you can just tell he's quality - that volley would have beaten most keepers and we'd be celebrating it as one of the goals of the season goal. On the whole I think I'd stick with Jesse for the moment on the basis that if he does start to show some consistency he'll lift us to another level - and coming off he bench might take the spotlight off Berahino and help him get that first goal.

With this kind of game, attitude is the main thing, if we carry on playing like we have so far then we should get a positive result.

Some people thought they would struggle but cleaning up West Ham 3 zip and then dispatching Swansea in their own back yard means they will be in the top half when we go to St James Park next weekend. Rafa back from his operation too pulling the strings and of course Joselu (remember him?) leading the line. What's the plan? Fancy us beating them myself. When was the last time Newcastle won 3 Premiership games on the bounce?.

I'm confident we'll turn them over if we go there with the same confidence we showed on Saturday. Keep it tight at the back, plenty of energy in the middle, get the ball out wide and get at them. If we can get an early goal, we'll be alright.

If we go up there and play our football we will win this game quite comfortably.
The Geordies will be up for it at the start, but that big home crowd gets mighty nervous mighty quickly which transmits itself to the players.
The key to this game is possession coupled with intelligent dynamic movement up front. We have the players capable of playing that game.
Get them chasing shadows and we will have an enjoyable Saturday.

We will win this one. Even though they won at an out of sorts Swansea I wasn't overly impressed. We have far better players.

Hardly looked like scoring in the away games so far, that is going to be the key. Got to move the ball quicker up the field.

Not particularly concerned about Newcastle or their 'resurgence'. That team looks pretty average and, even though Tyneside hasn't really been a happy hunting ground for us over the years, there is a big difference in quality between our respective first XI. IF we play to our capability and what our form has shown so far this season, then we really should be coming away with a positive result. But this is Stoke, the amazing consistently inconsistent Potters we're talking about. IF we are prepared properly and put the shift in first and foremost, our quality should come through. However I've followed Stoke for long enough to know that we can look a completely different team from one week to the next, where fans are left scratching their heads at how we can put in a cracking performance in one match yet 7 days later look completely at sea. 'No easy games' springs to mind so there's no complacency from me. That said, anything less than a win by a 3-goal margin will be a travesty

Nailed on that Joselu will score.
but our flair players should be relishing this - it will be an open game as Newcastle will be trying to attack and we are quick on the break.
I fancy Jese to score a one-on-one and Shaqiri to score from long-range (Shaq is itching to score I thimk)
2-1 win

Joselu has really fitted in up there and fair play to him - like some have said he's likely to score.
Rafa has set them up well, kept them disciplined and they break with flair. They could trouble us at the back with their pace, I just really hope we don't get sucked into loads of possession with little end product.

Maybe I'm being naive but Joselu really shouldn't cause us any problems. Hasn't got the pace or power to get the better of any of our CBs.. but football doesn't work like that does it?! Unfortunately.
