Not impressed with his performance today at all Looks very dicey to me, not sure ball playing CB's are Hughes's forte along with strikers and midfielders, could be he is not up to speed, fit etc. the same old excuses rolled out time and time again when our signings struggle to erm settle in. Its early days with him mate but so far he’s been poor for me.

Agree it is early days but does he really look anything like £18 million worth of central defender, BMI came in on loan and looked the deal.

Right now, Geoff is a better CH than him.
Some worrying traits, I'm hoping he needs games under his belt. When everyone is fit he's an £18m sub.

Looked awful today. Yet looked cool as a cucumber next to Ryan. Maybe Ryan is a calming influence?

I am clinging on to "rusty and a bit injured" to explain his underwhelming performances to date. He is 5th choice of our centre backs on evidence this season to date, when all are fit.

Lack of fitness is what I'm clinging to as explanation for how shit he's been. Because if his performance today is genuinely representative of his ability Hughes has made a monumental and expensive cock up.

What I want to know is, has he got a threepenny bit head?

Shied away from defensive duties and left everything to Zouma & Cameron. I honestly cant remember a single tackle he made all game
Plus he cant pass for shit.
Maybe hes been out for so long he needs to gain match fitness.
Worrying

With 20 minutes to go he was clutching the leg support in had on the top of his right leg. I suggest today he went out on the pitch despite being injured. This is the sort of commitment we need. I'm sure he will be a valuable team member in years to come.

Neither he or Cameron have trained and both passed late fitness tests. He will come good, credit to him for playing.

Let’s hope he was half fit because he was atrocious today.

That's a damning assessment. Not good at assessing strikers, midfielders and center forwards. What is he good at? Sometimes I wonder if he succeeds despite himself.

Serious question

Neither he or Cameron have trained and both passed late fitness tests. He will come good, credit to him for playing. Fortunately Bayern's mate, Geoff Cameron and Zouma played very well. Let' s hope Shawcross and Martins Indi are back for the Man City match and Cameron and Zouma don't get hurt in the International break. Shaq is long overdue for a hamstring pull, too. Come to think of it, this might be the longest streak Shaq has had without pulling up lame.

Cameron is a very under rated player. Wimmer was poor again today but he'll get there soon

He didn't play well at all but was adequate. He was totally bollocksed too bless him but soldiered on. Wimmer was totally bollocks in the air though but again though when he needed to stand up and be counted like Cameron he was there. Neither looked close to full fitness.

Everyone fit, I'd feel more comfortable with Cameron in a back 3 than Wimmer, says it all.

He was shocking. But let's try not to get on his back just yet.
He's clearly not fit and if it's true be played through injury as well then he deserves a pat on the back for turning up and putting a shift in. Even if it wasnt a good one

Still early days, but so far nothing has convinced me he was worth the kind of money we paid! Why didn't we buy a couple of fullbacks as we already had Pieters on our books who is a much better defender than Wimmer in a back three!
