Having seen how solid we have looked in the first two games and showed we can create chances and score a goal yesterday I'd say yes we are too good to go down.

Thoughts after Arsenal game? I'm watching the Huddersfield Newcastle game. There are definitely at least 3 worse teams. So another mid-table finish it is. Amazing how a seemingly stupid question a couple of weeks ago soon changes in to a legitimate one. Panic stations. Dunner werrit.

Absolutely no chance we will be worying about relegation this year. A draw would have been a fair result at Everton, well worth a point against West Brom, great team perforrmances against Arsenal and Utd. Mark Hughse job now is simply to build upon the good work so far.

I think the club can start planning a promotion team reunion/lap for after the last home game of the season, on (I think) the 10th anniversary of the promotion game, without worrying that fans will have streamed out already.

Ask Benji? Struggle to get 25 points he said. Net spend and our transfer window was horrible he said.... more like, hasn't got a clue.

Has anybody seen Benjie lately? Apparently, still out shopping and searching for puddings. Rumour is in Stoke that a number of fans have cleaned out the supermarkets of both rhubarb and humble pies!

Yes definitely
There are teams who need two wins to overtake us which is quite hard to do.
With other teams doing shit it takes media focus off Hughes and stoke and allows us to go about our season under the radar so to speak.
It could be one of those good seasons. There seems to be a right buzz and feel good factor around this year.
Brilliant

Numerous internationals and Champions League winners. Are we too good to go down at the expense of the likes of Brighton, Huddersfield, Swansea, Burnley and Watford? No doubt about that, we look very solid in my opinion!

It is still early days and the 10 game mark will still be a good indicator of how good or how bad of a season we will have overall........
Saying that......
The early signs are encouraging with MH and the team at last seeming to have sorted a few long standing problems. That defence looks outstanding so far proving Hughes and co can spot a decent defender and do actually train a defence, I know we conceded two against the shit but so far but they have been free scoring and with the performances of the last 18 months a 4 goal drubbing could well have been on the cards, not this year though....with our wall of steel. Butland is back to his best and we now have a reliable second keeper in Grant if required who installs confidence in the team when needed Pieters looks like he is back to the player that we once had Midfield looked good with Fletcher being involved in everything and wasting very little, an uninspiring signing who in all honesty is proving the doubters wrong ....myself included, love the guy and just hope his ageing frame allows him to give us a full season The Arnie question has been answered with a more than suitable replacement in EMCM, work-rate, flair, skill AND goals I like the look of Jesse, got caught in possession a few times yesterday but I am sure that once he gets used to the speed of the prem he will shine. The balance of the team looks to have been sorted overall with everyone seeming to now know what their role in the team is and what they are meant to be doing, Shaq looks to be having a decent amount of input and becomes a threat when he gets to cut inside the defender...just hope we can keep him fit when the cold weather arrives as he could well give us a season that we have all hoped for since his arrival Team spirit looks to have been enhanced with the new signings with some great goal celebrations on display with EMCM & (sat) Zoumer.
And the biggest plus for me so far....People are again being entertained at the 365 and thus meaning match atmosphere and noise is back with something to cheer rather than the dull turgid endurance creating silence from last season.
Early days but the early signs are looking very good....plus Fale are 92nd in the football league, do Sunday mornings get any better than this football wise....I suppose we could have won all three points but I will happily accept out point tally so far as it exceeds my pre season expectations

Fletcher is massive with respect to Glenn he looks to move us forward rather than back. Biggest single reason for me. Making us strong at the back has helped too along with a new system which MH and the players are comfortable with. Last season we just kept changing the system and side. Just need to keep injury free and we could have a great season on our hands. I think what the old guard have done since being moved on has shown it was the right time to go.

Far too early to judge any sides, we look solid defensively, but Newcastle will be a fairer test. We didn't look remotely like scoring against WBA. If we can sort the forwards out It will be more a case of how high up we can get rather than relegated, but you never know.

Yes...but, injuries to Cameron and Shawcross are worrying because it leaves a us with no back up at center half.

Outside of the Top 8, no team is too good to go down. A duff transfer window, a dodgy run with injuries etc. All clubs can go through it.

Relegation won't be an issue. My only concern is if we have enough squad depth to cope with a bad run of injuries, particularly in midfield.

We wont go down, if anything we will be challenging for top 8 so long as we can keep key players like Zouma, Fletch, Butland and Allen fit

This isn't entirely relevant but wanted to say it anyway, I'm far from convinced Everton are going to be top 7/8 this season. Yeah, they've spent a lot of money but their attacking players are all very slow, with the exception of Calvert-Lewin who didn't play yesterday because Koeman wants to fit all his big signings in the same team. It'll be interesting to see where they end up this season and I genuinely believe it won't be far from us.

We should be ok but there is a danger people are getting a bit giddy here as per a couple of performances against the Mcr clubs a couple of years back. Let's see us settle into a style going forward and continue to solidify at the back before any long term judgements are made. The next challenge as far as I can see is a possible mini injury crisis at the back - it will be interesting to see if we can work our way around it in the next couple of weeks.

Did you see Brighton and Palace?! yep both teams had better chances to score then us . After all these years in the premiership we are still relying on other teams to be shitter then us . Pathetic Not been on for a while mate, quelle surprise. Then again the schools have started back I suppose.

I find it quite amusing that at the same point last season we'd played 4 with 1 point and were bottom of the league. According to the Oatcake we were certs for relegation. This term after 4 games and a very creditable 5 points from more difficult games we are 10th. But apparently it's too early to make a judgment. 😃

No team is too good to go down so the answer to the OP is still no - look no further that Chelsea who won the league, flirted with relegation and won the league in successive seasons. If this is rephrased as "if we play to our full potential every game are we too good to go down" then I'd say yes. If this squad stays fit and the players and team improve over the course of the season (which has happened in the majority of seasons under Hughes) we could be in for one hell of a season. Or it could all go tits up...the lack of certainties is what makes it fun.
