With Arnie off to WHU, it looks like they are really going for it next Season with Hernandez, Hart and others added to their line up. Are they top 7 material, and against them in our fixtures?

Bore off about West Ham. They were awful last season. They have added a keeper that's just been laughed out of Italy and a cash only motivated snake who turns up for around 10 games a season. This is a stoke forum!

They'll still end up anywhere between 9th and 20th. Hopefully the latter š

Let's be honest, they've done good business.
Hart, Zabaletta, Arnie and Hernandez.
We need go get a move on.

Hart is a shit keeper now.
Arnie will do well for them.
Hernandez might too. He's a funny one, I wouldn't want him here but if you lay it on a platter for him then he's one of the best. Big if though.

I don't actually think their signings are quite as good as people think
Hart - good keeper but full of errors. Jacks better. Hernandez - Good goal scoring record but not a man to lead the line and 29 now. Man U got rid for a reason. Zabaletta - Great player but ageing. Arni - A real maverick but inconsistant. That said I do really rate Lanzini and Ogbona.

Not top 7 but top 10 is 6/4 with betfair. I think that's a good bet

I reckon Hart is worse than what they already had. Made the second most mistakes leading to goals in the whole of Europe last season.

Let's be honest, they've done good business. Hart, Zabaletta, Arnie and Hernandez. We need go get a move on. Hart, going down hill at an alarming rate Zabaletta, could be decent, one last pay day Arnie, not a bad signing but isn't consistent Hernandez, could do well as long as they don't use him as a lone striker All in all they're okay signings but nothing too special really.

You can understand Arnie wanting to take that 'side-step'. They are buying better players in all areas.

I actually think he'll do very well and that he is a lot more nailed on to out score our very own (yet to look anything like a) lethal front man.

Yeah probably. I'd have been happy with Benteke and Townsend last year. I was quite happy when we signed Bony! People shouldn't automatically assume that West Ham are going to have a good season though. As I said, a few went overboard about Palace last season and stated that they were leaving us behind.

Arnie has kept moaning about wanting to play champions league footy, so I am sure he would not leave his beloved Stoke City unless it was guaranteed On a serious note, this looks like a sideways move, and we have to question why on the face of it, he wants to move to a club who can only finish in the top half at best - what does this say about Stoke. Maybe he is just a greedy bastard and we might be looking too deeply into this, maybe not

I would think they should be best of the rest. I still think last season's top 7 have too much about them to be caught up short-term.

Let's see, Hart v Butland- Hart is more experienced but Jack is better. Arnie v Sobhi- At the moment, it's got to be Arnie. Hernandez v Saido- Hernandez.

Yeah, great business from them, a past it full back who was part of the problem at manchester city last season, a goalkeeper who is a bit of a mess and has been for 18 months now, a striker who can't function on his own particularly effectively and a winger who has 1 good game in 3. Yeah, great business.

Hart is terrible these days no movement left in him, Marko is a 5 game wonder just hope we don't get one of those days next season and Hernandez is in decent form one who will add to them but as a whole they are so disjointed as a squad on the pitch.

In 15/16 the spread finishing 8th ā 17th was 21 pts. In 16/17 ā it was 6, or a couple of poor ref decisions from relegation. I canāt see that any of the established clubs can be happy with last seasons return and bragging rights when 46pts lands you 8th!!
Ignoring the top 6, Everton had a good season and now with money on paper made the best squad progress so far this window but likely Barkley, Lukaku gone and a new style next season questions whether theyāll be better or worse but got to assume 7th spot reserved for them. The best middling clubs can manage is staying in touch, 8th by getting the better players at either end of their career but usually on the way down (Zabaletta, Rooney etc) and WHUās business has a bit of that. But theyāve also secured players at their peak which maybe gives us a bit of a chance of being best of the rest?
Having said that I'll judge the business properly once we've kicked off the season and they're wearing the C&B - until then it's all opinion.
Hart - Ā£4m for the season (includes wages) and arguably better than Adrian whoās now got to up his game ā good competition and good business given that heāll be hooking up with Zabaletta again and if he can find his old form ā well who knows? I can understand his detractors and get Butlandās potential/future greatness but Hart has a big season ahead to get his reputation back or fade away.
Signing him also allows Randolf to move - Ā£5-7m for him more than pays. Zabaletta? Ā£Free Top professional low wages (relative) who can cover 3 positions including DM right now. Good pull for other players (especially Argentinean) and a leader in dressing room. Happy with him.
Arnie? No Payet and still not confirmed but better than we had. For Ā£20m in this market weāve done OK but heās hardly a bargain and Stoke have hardly been robbed. Weād better get āthe Maverickā Arnie (who could get PDC status) with a bit of controversy and a few bonkers goals than a sulky one when Bilic doesnāt pick him ā but as things stand weāve lots of AMR/L and for me wasnāt a priority position. Got to be thinking at least one of Snodgrass, Feghouli, Ayew have got to be shifted before the end of the window. Hernandez? Ā£13m + big wages but still a real coup. Give him service and heāll score ā I think our attacking talent can do that. Also good in the air for a small bloke and from a PR perspective has over 8m twitter followers or 8x the number the club has. Very cute business IMO.
Weāre also linked with Keita Balde (ex Barca) from Lazio at Ā£27m with (apparently fee agreed) and down to player etc.. Itās unlikely to happen as Juve want him; itās a choice of being 1st pick at WHU or 5th choice over there albeit a CL club? This would be this windows unrealistic target Sullivan has a punt on, make a lot of noise but donāt sign etcā¦
Whether itās him or someone else we still need another striker ā Carroll canāt be relied on and Sakhoās his constant mate in the physio room.
Iāll also predict weāll take a punt on an African midfielder and a South American forward or two and use our full loan quotas by Sept 1st.

It's amazing the amount of cash that can be freed up to buy and pay players when corruption is rife and you get handed a free stadium at the tax-payers expense.
