3putts - I have tried to be honest and fair and think that you must have misunderstood the last line in my reply to baby. He, understandably, made the point that now your Austrian is our Austrian, he is history as far a SCFC supporter is concerned, I agree with that thinking. My comments about fucking off, was aimed at a departing player, I would/do think the same about a player leaving WH. Maybe you are not familiar with the "king is dead" saying?

Fellas, I understand that you are feeling a little sore towards us cheeky East End chappies for pinching your best player, while we hope that he becomes a star turn, of course you will be hoping that he has a career ending injury on his debut, that is the way of the football supporting world, we wished the same on Payet.
I also understand that you are not too enamoured with our owners, guess what, neither are we!
You also seem to have a bit of anger and dislike for our marvellous and unique football club, I have to let you know, that we don't like your mob too much either, but don't be too flattered or offended, we don't like any other club, again common football supporter mentality.
However, the reason why I have chosen to register on your site and post is in response to the bullshit accusation that we were gifted a stadium. Of course I would not have expected you to have followed the process as closely as we did and so can I just enlighten you on how we became tenants, but before I do, maybe I should point out, for those of you who didn't travel down for your visit last November, that the place is an absolute kharsi, it is not fit for football and has changed our club for the worse forever. Not expecting any sympathy from you on that, but please understand the following.
The white elephant of an athletics stadium was a massive ego trip by Lord Coe & Co, who flatly refused to consider an alternative use other than athletics for post Olympics at the planning stage, indeed you could argue that we were given the games on the proviso that there would be an athletics legacy. However once the games were secured, it was pretty obvious that there couldn't be a viable ongoing athletics use for the stadium, so the owners of our club understandably saw a geographical opportunity and entered into negotiations to buy the place outright and an agreement was eventually reached. However, then the charming and always helpful Mr Levy of Spurs and Mr Hearns, then of Orient, mounted a legal challenge to the sale to us and that decision was reversed. The stadium then went out to tenant bidders, at which point, surprise surprise, there was only one viable application, ours. How I wish we had told them to stick it at the point in time and figure their own way out a self dug, almighty embarrassing hole!
Now, our owners are a lot of negative things, but stupid they are not, they knew very well that at this point the LLDC were absolutely over a barrel of their own making and Sullivan, Gold and Brady absolutely rogered them senseless and secured an amazing deal, if they hadn't they would have been in dereliction of their duty as West Ham owners/directors. It wasn't West Ham's responsibility to make good the absolute folly of Coe and the others involved in the ludicrous planning process for the stadium.
Now in the unlikely event that the Olympics had been held in Staffordshire, I am sure that your savvy Coates family would have been equally keen and able to rape the owners in the same circumstances.
The problem for us now, and this will thrill you, is that we are stuck with an appalling, atmosphere less bowl, which in "football mode" is an embarrassment and is being filled via a "gentrification" process with polite spectators, to try to turn us into an East End Arsenal, a club which Brady never ceases to spout her admiration for. Never again will you fellas have to think carefully about a visit to WH, those days are left behind at Upton Park and as we are only tenants, thank you Levy & Hearns, we can do naff all about it.
Right now the stadium is in "athletics mode", for the current raspberry games and the world championships next month and the place has had to be "debadged" with all external WH reference for the events. Charming, a real reminder that we are homeless!
So in conclusion, we sold our old cracking little shithole, but it was our beloved little shithole, for an abortion of a venue, it's hideous and again I expect no sympathy, but please get your facts right, it was not a gift to us from the taxpayer, sadly for us, we prevented the country being left with a rust bucket as a embarrassing reminder in the middle or an enormous Olympic Park.
I hope that this clarifies the situation!
I must say that if I was a West Ham supporter, I would be seriously struggling at the moment. For people who've been running club's for 30 years, Gold, Sullivan and Brady do a very good impression of people who simply couldn't care less about football. We may bemoan our lack of transfer activity at Stoke, but at least our owner gets it. What do you do when the identity of a proud, 120 (?) year old club is having its soul sold down the river by owners whose end goal is a ghastly generi-bowl filled with Arsenal-type tourists and Tarquins? They probably want to rename the club London FC, too. It's very difficult, but I suppose no more difficult than life has been for supporters of Cardiff, Hull and even Chelsea. Perhaps even Leicester and Man City supporters stop and wonder sometimes.

Can't see the point in folk having a go at West ham for signing slightly older players when we have oldies and the youngsters never get a game. Worry about Stokes lack of strengthening (so far). Talking of old players, remind me how old Sir Stanley was when you took him back from Blackpool? :-)

I couldn't give a fuck about West Ham and they couldn't give a fuck about us. I know Marko is going but is there a need to start an obsession with them? I'm all for giving Marko shit and for it turning into a grudge match but that's as far as it goes for me.

Personally speaking I like West ham and always have done. Loved trips to Upton park, my favourite away day and generally hope they do well. I quite like bilic as well. We have history dating back to the 90's with Sullivan, gold and Brady but that doesn't really negate my generally positive feelings for west ham. I don't particularly give a monkeys how they acquired their new stadium but on my first visit last season I hated the place. I've not visited a more soulless, less suitable football arena ever and for a club with supporters like west hams I found that pretty sad in all honesty. Now they've taken our best player and despite the fact that Arnie is a classless, greedy bastard who went out of his way to rile the very same supporters he's now going to suck up to only 2 short seasons ago, he was our best player. Even then I have little animosity towards west ham themselves. Arnie, however, will get both barrels and some on his return to stoke and rightly so. I'll still quite like west ham but I hope he shows them his arrogant, half arsed side more often than his brilliant side and that he pisses the large hard-core element of their support immensely. Finally, despite being our best player (in my opinion) visiting hammers must not be mistaken into thinking he was the king here because he wasn't. He wasn't universally popular, for every person that loved him you'd find one that hated him. Very few players, if any, leaving us under a cloud of animosity, go on to be better things at their new club. All being well that trend will continue and we can delight in reminding him of that fact in a few months time.

I don't mind West Ham too much, a bit like Newcastle the deluded expectation of their fans that only a select handful of clubs should ever finish above them in the league makes their occasional relegations all the more hilarious.
Not like those Everton lot, they don't even have the decency to completely balls it up so we can laugh at their past misplaced arrogance for a season or two.

That's a decent post to be fair Upton, here's my view on Arnautovic.
Yes he has often been our best player, scored a few great goals and can be a real handful but this isn't every week. He plays well for one or two games then he can't be bothered for the next four or five. For every great moment you see on MOTD there's a few dozen where his lazy, couldn't care less attitude stands out a mile.
In many ways I found him a frustrating player to watch. He certainly has ability but fails to use it all the time. I suspect Mark Hughes wouldn't drop him because of his attitude when things don't go Markos way ( wait til he gets subbed off a couple of times and you'll see what I mean ). We have youngsters waiting in the wings who couldn't get game time because of him, which was again frustrating for the fans who wanted to see the exciting Ramadan Sobhi given a run.
Undoubtedly, Arnie has talent but to be honest, I found him to be a petulant, spoilt brat with an arrogance I came to dislike and I can only imagine what impact this may have had in the dressing room. As with almost all modern day footballers he is a mercenary, who's head and heart are turned by cash. He stalled on his last contract with us until he realised there were NO other takers. Infact WHU are the only other club to show any real interest since we signed him, despite his brothers claims that he should be playing Champions League football.
At a guess, I'd say he will start off really well for you, maybe even have a good season, but he will soon settle down into the player we became accustomed to. There's no sour grapes at our end towards WHU believe me, only towards the player, a player we plucked from relative obscurity, gave a chance to and helped all we could, only to be repaid by contract stalling, then once he had signed he wanted to leave again.
In all honesty, I think most of us are happy with the deal now the initial Arnie anger has subsided. The 20 odd million profit is a tidy sweetener and we now have the promising Sobhi to look forward to, happy days as far as I'm concerned. Good luck with him.... come back in two seasons time and give us you're thoughts !
