Don't worry the Shawcross contract is being sorted out by the same people who are getting us BMI. And sold Arni and N'zonzi. Oh. And lets not forget the signings of Haugaard, Wollscheidt, Imbula, Teixiera, Shea, Bony and others.

Ryan makes a monumental fuck up in a friendly and goes off injured = he's useless, take the arm band off him, get rid. Ryan hasn't been offered a new contract yet = the club is going down the pan, Tony Scholes useless, very worrying news .. Nothing changes on here. Beggars belief some on here ever went school. The same as whelken and Walters, the idiots wanted them to go at least 2 years ago, not good enough, championship at best, now its the club are letting the fans down by selling them. I am sure there are some vale fans on here, not forgetting the ususal few who are just fkn nuts.

There's never been a problem sorting his contract out before, as far as we know. Now there is. Why do we think that is? It suggests either the club/management is losing faith in its longest serving player and captain for some reason, or said captain is reticent about signing a new deal. It again suggests something, somewhere isn't right. As far as we know why do we think suggests either suggests, something somewhere So basicaly you havent got a fkn clue about anything

I think Ryan is being a bit naive, we have potentially 2 quality central defenders coming in and 2 very highly rated youngsters that aren't a million miles from the squad . His form and fitness are still cause for concern . He should sign and get his head down

His form and fitness are still cause for concern . He should sign and get his head down What he's saying is he hasn't even seen a contract though Harry. As things stand, even if he's not quite the player he was (and personally I think reports of his decline are greatly exaggerated) he's currently the best centre back we own. It also doesn't sit massively well the haste with which some seem desperate to consign him to history having (rightly) stuck the boot into Arnie for a perceived lack of loyalty.

Give him a pay rise, a new five year deal which goes to coaching should he retire early
He's been and still is brilliant for us and in premiership money terms over ten years has cost us virtually nothing

The skipper can talk to other clubs in four months, our best player has just been flogged off at a discount and we look further away from signing Bruno than ever. Waht's he on again, our glorious Chief Exec? £850K a year?

Ryan ' I spoke to chief executive Tony scholes at the end of last season and since then we have not spoken again '
Makes you wonder what scholes does to pass the time...

Shawcross earned his reputation in the Pulis years when the penalty area was awash with his team mates. Under Hughes he has been average or unavailable. In the friendly games he has made a series of errors that do not bode confidence. It is no wonder that he has not been approached by his club to sign a new contract. At present we have no permanent signings who are better than Shawcross. It is therefore easy to understand why fans are worried. The season is just two weeks away. I hope the club know more about the Indi situation than they are letting on. IMO if we sign Indi we should also add a centre half that is better than Shawcross. We have Zouma for a season which will be a big help. I would not complain if we could acquire Smalling giving us Smalling, Indi and Zouma with Ryan on the bench.

It's an absolute joke that he hasn't had an extension. We are turning into a massive shambles.
