I've been saying for over a month he can go for me. Yes, I wanted Pulis out and I put forward a viable alternative who got the job and improved us despite minimal initial investment. Now it's time for another change as he appears to have lost the plot. Give us a name. It's not the job of the fans to suggest replacements. It's the job of the board to select a new manager if the see fit to get rid of Hughes. Why are people so obsessed with fans suggesting a successor? Just because they don't, does it make their opinion less valid? It all adds to the debate rather than just saying I want Hughes out.

Alot of good points mate and well put, well written. Does not however mask the performances of late, he is uncapable of motivating this lot for some reason. I can take losing against a good Man City or a top quality Spurs IF the effort and commitment is shown, which clearly its not! We amble through too many games, today for example was like a training session. I give up trying to get my point across, not just on here but with people I speak to wherever, its dross and with the quality of the squad it shouldn't be, a new face could get this lot organised and playing to their potential, now that could get good!! Read more: oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/267845/hughes-slaughtered-on-radio-stoke?page=2#ixzz4ff9WEenlI agree that the performances haven't been the best mate and personally I think it is just a lack of confidence throughout the team at the minute. i think it was a much better performance than swansea which was dire but I really don't think hughes is the problem. I think he backs his players all the way and gives them as many chances as he can bojan was not performing and not getting game time. He wasn't happy and was sent on loan to try and get a bit of confidence back get game time and hopefully feature next season. It hasn't worked out and hughes has said in hindsight he wishes he'd have kept him here because the loan isn't working out for him as all parties hoped it would I think that was good man management by hughes giving a star player opportunities to perform. We create so many chances which we are guilty of not putting away it is mind boggling how we dont come away most games having scored 2 or 3 but again i cant say its hughes fault. aside from putting the ball in the net himself he sees it on the training ground berahino doing class finishing we just cant move it on to the main stage for some reason, either its nerves and pressure from/on the players which leads to mistakes and poor choices or as you say its hughes fault in some way but I can't find a way to blame hughes for players dropping out of form and injuries to key players and signings not performing as we envisioned. i dont think anyone can say when imbula first came and he played his first few games he wasnt going to work out. they thought he was the n'zonzi replacement and better but it just hasnt worked out for him and i think its work ethic whcih he himself has come out and said that he doesnt have the work ethic which hughes wants him to have

We're an attractive opportunity, it's not like Pulis leaving and everyone being worried if our current crop could cope with playing football under a new manager
We've got some real talent here and also out on loan, they're just not being managed correctly
Are we perfect? No, should we be looking up and not down? MASSIVE YES, we've underperformed for the last 18 months, Silva, Mancini or Wagner would be my choices

Hughes has taken us big step backwards. We could finish as low as 16th and out of both cups without a whimper Mancini, Ranieri, Schmidt, Labbadia any of those for me

Mark Hughes can go for all I care. I don't care if he stays or not. But he really pisses me off. He comes out with the same rubbish after every game about how "we were the dominant team," "we were unlucky today," "I thought crouch and adam did ok." Just fuck off and admit you got it wrong. His substitutions (or lack of) are a sackable offence alone.
And for all of the pricks who say "oh but if he went who else could we get." The answer, virtually whoever we wanted. We should be a top half team in the best, richest league in the world, so the possibilities are endless.
Another thing people say which pisses me off is "you clearly weren't around when we played carlisle on a tuesday night." Maybe I wasn't, but does that mean that I can't hope for better than the current shite we are watching. We have a very talented bunch of individuals who could easily play in the europa league with a system which they understand.
The overall point is, stop coming out with the same old bullshit every week just because we are in the premier league and things could be worse.

Mancini is not the answer. Silva seems a good bet. Why not? Managed top clubs including Inter and you wouldn't have him here. He would be a major catch but my feeling is he's still being paid off by Citeh or he'd be snapped up by now.

We're getting plenty of coverage on 606 on R5L as well. Callers probably 60/40 Hughes out / in. I've had to turn it off as Savage does my head in after a while.

Don't we have a chief executive on a near seven figure salary who's job it is to find a replacement for Hughes? Why are people so obsessed in saying that you're no allowed to want Hughes out unless you can name an alternative. Southampton never seem to have any problem finding decent managers from abroad. The same Southampton who are 1 point better off than us and had an equally terrible start to the season?

I listened with interest - The thing I noted were, the stats that Pej quoted towards the end of the Stoke bit
AND SO, no matter how positive you are - no matter how you dress it up
they were not good
not good at all
he ( Mr Hughes) should be a rather worried man
with an incredibly busy summer looming

Gross overreaction, I've been very critical of MH , but we were Ok today, played some decent football. Still not got it together, but not too bad. We have definitely missed Shaquiri, with his injury record, different class today.

I've defended the guy for a while but it's not improving. We have a top ten squad and this season will be our lowest points tally and lowest position (if anyone thinks we're winning any of the next 3 al have what their drinking).
You can't tell me Benitez, mancini, rogers (aware there's more but first three a thought of) wouldn't do a better job with this squad.
I just don't trust Hughes with our transfer kitty in the summer !

The same Southampton who, despite losing their manager and three key players (Mane, Wanyama & Pelle) and despite an understandably shaky start to the season, are still a point ahead of us (with 2 games in hand) and reached a cup final. Just for balance, like.

Quite right
The fact that every time the going gets rough, his master plan is to ditch his own signings and bring back ageing players TP signed years ago says it all for me

I think an appointment like Mancini would really inspire the fans Pugs. Would signal a new direction at the very least. I feel we are a bit directionless at the moment. I know why you are angry it's like we've become Arsenal moaning all the time, but I feel the club is just drifting right now..in the wrong direction I'm not angry. Mancini? I suggested him a while back and got slaughtered. Coates would never go for him, he would be too demanding and would want the kind of money Coates wouldn't entertain. Pearson is who we will get. Maybe Moyes. Man alive, what a thought. Moyes? Jesus, thats like inviting Hodgson. Id rather keep Hughes and thats saying something.
