looks like Paul Nuttall will stand for UKIP Another parachuted candidate by the looks of it, Labour needs a local person (Not Pervez not Pervez not Pervez) to have the best chance of winning. Interesting that they've parachuted a career politician and a member of the liberal elite into challenge the seat. Surely a suicidal move in a place like Stoke Central. Nuttall needs to get into Parliament after 5 previous failed attempts. Stoke had the highest % leave EU vote of any City in the UK. In theory this is his best chance to strike it lucky at the 6th time of asking!! Interestingly although UKIP gained massive increases in votes locally from 2010 to the 2015 Election, Labour actually increased by 0.5%. Lib Dems are the party that lost their votes to UKIP - not Labour.

They know it has worked before and they have been able to take votes for granted. Personally, I think it shows sheer complacency and an utter contempt for the working class of a place like Stoke. I would have thought that someone like Corbyn would have known this, and surely must have had some say?? But despite his heart being in the right place, I think he lives in a metropolitan liberalist bubble too.

Meme time Utter cunt. KEEP HIM OUT! My particular problem with UKIP is their Thatcherite ethos. However, they are portrayed as far right (which they are not), so all this talk about about racist UKIP doesn't wash with many folk.

There's room for people and politicians of every political persuasion in this country, so have a little grace. You won't influence anyone here anyway, believe me.

Paul Nuttall was a leading force in UKIP joining forces with the heinous racist and homophobic parties of Italy, Denmark etc in the European Parliament. That is when Nuttall could be arsed to turn up. Never forgot to claim his expenses though. He's an absolute cunt.

I have never voted UKIP in my life. Never. And I never would. I don't care for Paul Nuttall any more than you. But there you go yet again with your left wing intolerance. The victim mentality. If we don't agree with you then we are immediately dismissed as being unworthy to hold opinions. I'm bored with it. Every adult in the UK is entitled to an opinion and the right to vote according to their beliefs. Grow up, for God's sake. And go and live in North Korea. You would feel at home there.

Could you imagine the prime minister's constituency being stoke. Might improve the area and definitely worth considering when making your vote, even if you don't particularly like the party. Not saying they are a challenge to the conservatives, but at the moment labour are all but gone. Things could turn quickly in this strange world.

Or even the Leader of a political party that won about 4 million votes nationwide. Over 12% of all votes. As many as the Lib Dems and SNP put together. Nuttall's slogan "Love Stoke, Vote UKIP" Catchy

Cllr Gareth Snell
Cllr Allison Gardner
Trudie McGuinness
Cllr Stephen Hitchin

If you voted leave you need to vote UKIP. Labour is forced to say they respect the vote when at any chance they have they will try to dilute the process. Labour do not represent the leavers in Stoke.

Believe it or not Britain leaving the EU is not the only thing going on in peoples lives. I'm not sure what you mean by 'diluting the process' but if that means retaining strong ties with our friends in the rest of Europe rather than getting smaller, less influential and more insular then I'm in for some dilution.

On Nicola Sturgeon; "Tuesday is Emmeline Pankhurst Day, and whilst I am not going to throw myself in front of a horse to make my point about British democracy on this occasion, this is a vitally important constitutional matter and perhaps we should throw Sturgeon in front of a hunt horse as part of the commemorations." What an unbelievably crass comment from someone in his position. I hope the people of Stoke don't vote this muppet in.
