Bojan lightweight?
The same Bojan who was tearing absolutely everyone apart during that purple patch?
Not buying the lightweight myth I'm afraid, it's psychologically where his issue lies, not physically.

I think to say that Arnie doesn't put a shift in is undeniable nonsense. Bony has played 6 minutes since November 19th. Seriously? Good Lord that's shocking. What must he be doing in Training? Impersonations of a Footballer? Ridiculous isn't it, slightly skewed cause of ACON but his performances for us so far haven't deserved any more football really. Been given by far the longest run of games of any of our strikers and 2 good(ish) games to show for it.

Unfortunately he was a liability and had definitely not got back to the heights he achieved. Knocked off the ball too easily although no different in build to Silva of Man City. If he toughens up while in the Bundesliga and learns to contribute more to the team then there is no reason why we cannot recall him at the end of his loan period, but Hughes had too many not putting a shift in already with Arnie & Shaq + Bony so something just had to give. Probably the same short sighted people on here moaning as they did when we had that headless chicken Tuncay in the side. Get real we need some steele in this team not mamby pamby weak links I think to say that Arnie doesn't put a shift in is undeniable nonsense. Bony has played 6 minutes since November 19th. I agree re Bojan and to date Bony has never really looked that interested. Shaqiri was drifting in out of games and does fall over easily but he's looked a lot more up for it in the last 2 games - possibly as a result of the Wolves bollocking. To say Arnie doesn't put in a shift is way off the mark. He still throws a wobbly when a decision doesn't go his way but his commitment and work rate have been excellent.

Coach Martin Schmidt had this to say about the new signing: “In Bojan we’ve acquired a player who is dangerous in front of goal and creative. I'm looking forward to the challenge of integrating him into the team over the coming months.”Yes, good luck with that! Bojan himself revealed: “For me it’s an honour that Mainz have given me this opportunity to prove myself at club in another top European league. I’m looking forward to seeing the team as well as the fans and being able to help the Zerofivers on the pitch.”Next you'll be saying your ex had smaller tits and you said you loved me us!

A Zero Fiver will go for approximately one hundred thousand pounds on the internet auctioneering sites: Electronic Bay; The Dutch Auction site; and Silk Road, where you can buy many, many zero fivers, as well as real life footballers, delivered in Jiffy Bags of assorted sizes.

The wandering minstrel, capable of playing a truly beautiful tune on his day (but good luck with catching him on that day, as they are pretty rare), tries out another league to see if his unique talents can fit in somewhere.
I fear it is the last we shall see of him in the glorious red 'n' white stripes.

He was never going to be sold but a loan deal would appear to suit all parties.
Bojan will get game time and a chance to rediscover his form and confidence.
Stoke still have him tied down to a long term contract.
Mainz get a player that, when playing well, is an absolute gem.
It wouldn't surprise me if we re-instated Bojan into the first team when he returns in the summer.

MH on Bojan's departure... He was getting frustrated, and in fairness, he and his representatives have been discussing his lack of opportunities. Joe Allen came in and has done so well in bojan's preferred position, and that has affected my decision making on Bojan. I thought that there may have been more opportunities for Bojan with the guys away at the Africa Cup of Nations., but that didn't pan out. He maybe didn't make the most of his opportunities, and we felt the best thing was to get him out and playing football.

Watching him against Wolves was like watching a 10 year old against some fully grown men.

Hope he comes back fiery. Wonderful player, one of my favorites. He needs game-time and this seems to be the best solution before the summer window when we hopefully get more in and bring him back. I sure hope so.
