Only saying! I'm not sure after Wollscheld, Imbula, Shaq and Bojan on the bench

If you wouldn't then imo you want him sacked. That trust has to be there.
Coates has to back him this January.

Only saying! I'm not sure after Wollscheld, Imbula, Shaq and Bojan on the bench Would you give money to pep after spending 50m on stones and that joke of a defender with gloves on in goal? Only saying!

Yes, you either back him or sack him simple as that!

Yes at the moment, i'd like to see a league table on what he has spent since at stoke compared to other teams and see the difference before saying no

You have to. If he's showing no signs of fixing it with the current side he needs to add something that will address balance.
Whether he does the right thing in January is down to him, but he needs to have the funds available.
You can't be petty over it, there's a league position at stake.

Well...if he doesn't, it's the beginning of the end for Sparky.

Assuming he is leaving in the summer, I'd look at his list of targets and then sign Brek Shea for him.

Is this thread on auto cut and paste before each window?
We need to sign a goalkeeper or we're in trouble.

Yes, you either back him or sack him simple as that! Arguably, the penny pinching Hughes had to endure when he first arrived has led to some of the problems we face now? I admit he hasn't spent well since, though.

If we permanently sign Martins Indi and Grant it opens up 4 loans ( 5 if Bony leaves )
That's the route we will take as it's madness to build a squad in January

Klipperty Klopp said that the mistake many Premier League managers make is to assume they can buy success and ignore coaching. The facts certainly seem to prove his point. Leicester won the league on a shoe-string and only made a couple of strategic acquisitions (erm. Huth). Chelsea are running away with the league at the minute with only one key buy (David Silva) focusing on re-energizing the players they have (Costa, Hazard, Moses). Liverpool look pretty good too. Hughes should focus more on getting the best out of the players he has. Otherwise this will be QPR revisited.

Oh and tell him spend time coaching his two keepers!

My worry about that is that it appears he's ran out of ideas for what we have. What Conte has done too is signed Alonso, a full back that completes his favoured formation. It's a clever, strategic buy. When was the last time we had one of those?

A goalie and sign Martins Indi is all we need in January.
Hughes needs to find the right formation and team out of the players he already has at his disposal.

We need two goalies as butland is not going to play anytime soon and Haugaard and Given are basically just not up to it. Martins Indi is on a season long loan anyway so for me we need a decent striker to cover the three players going to the AFCON and also a quality Whelan upgrade.

If that was our window then not sent but I'd be happy as we have secured 2 loans who have fitted in and done well and shipped out one who doesn't want to be here. Berahino would be great but given he is free in the summer the price has to be v low (2-3m) and I can't see Pearce taking that as he will still believe he can sign him up with Baggies

I knew someone would say this. What he said you can't build a great team by throwing money at the problem without spending an equal amount of effort on coaching the players you have. Klopp has a vision for the type of team he wants to build, Hughes's approach is hit and miss (mostly miss, if you look at Monday's bench). He totally out-thought Hughes this week - so yes, I would say he coached his arse off to a conformtable 4-1 win. Conte transformed Hazard, Costa and Moses and no-one saw how much difference bringing David Silva into the middle of a back three would make. Saturday is likely to bring the differences of the two coaches in sharp focus - I hope I am wrong and I'll be first to admit my mistake.
