Never much business done in January. If that was our window then not sent but I'd be happy as we have secured 2 loans who have fitted in and done well and shipped out one who doesn't want to be here. Berahino would be great but given he is free in the summer the price has to be v low (2-3m) and I can't see Pearce taking that as he will still believe he can sign him up with Baggies He isn't free in the summer mate....wba are still eligible for compensation given he's under 25 and British and they know that The same thing happened with Danny Ings at Burnley and Liverpool had to pay £8m Didn't realise that. 1-0 to you

Surely it wouldn't be too difficult to make a defensive signing in January. Nothing earth shattering just solid decent quality cover for Bruno and Ryan. Given our injury record it's safe to assume we are going to need it.

Players in PLAYER FROM FEE DATE Sadio Mane Southampton £34,000,000 28 Jun, 2016 Joel Matip Schalke Free 01 Jul, 2016 Loris Karius Mainz £4,700,000 01 Jul, 2016 Ragnar Klavan Augsburg £4,200,000 20 Jul, 2016 Alex Manninger Augsburg Free 22 Jul, 2016 Georginio Wijnaldum Newcastle £25,000,000 22 Jul, 2016 Total: £67,900,000 Yep, he's coaching his arse off.... I knew someone would say this. What he said you can't build a great team by throwing money at the problem without spending an equal amount of effort on coaching the players you have. Klopp has a vision for the type of team he wants to build, Hughes's approach is hit and miss (mostly miss, if you look at Monday's bench). He totally out-thought Hughes this week - so yes, I would say he coached his arse off to a conformtable 4-1 win. Conte transformed Hazard, Costa and Moses and no-one saw how much difference bringing David Silva into the middle of a back three would make. Saturday is likely to bring the differences of the two coaches in sharp focus - I hope I am wrong and I'll be first to admit my mistake. Coaching is a lot easier coming into a side assembled for 200 million then spending a further 68 million and about to spend another 50 million. How much has the Chelsea team cost?

Assuming he is leaving in the summer, I'd look at his list of targets and then sign Brek Shea for him. rofl Why would you assume he is leaving this summer?

Klopp gets on my nerves completely but it has to be admitted he is getting the best out of players who were already at the club aswell as spending huge sums (generally quite wisely).

Klipperty Klopp said that the mistake many Premier League managers make is to assume they can buy success and ignore coaching. The facts certainly seem to prove his point. Leicester won the league on a shoe-string and only made a couple of strategic acquisitions (erm. Huth). Chelsea are running away with the league at the minute with only one key buy (David Silva) focusing on re-energizing the players they have (Costa, Hazard, Moses). Liverpool look pretty good too. Hughes should focus more on getting the best out of the players he has. Otherwise this will be QPR revisited. but but but .... after three ninth place finishes, it can't be QPR revisited can it?

Only saying! I'm not sure after Wollscheld, Imbula, Shaq and Bojan on the bench a good squad always has good players on the bench.......hughes has done far better than pulis on less money Love see the facts on this Hughes as spent money big money Coates wouldn't of trusted Pulis with 18 mill on one player,

If I was the chairman he'd be having no money! As it turns out, I'm not so if Coates is going to stick with him he has to back his man, though I'm not convinced he will.

Yes We are pretty much fucked if we don't Judge again at the end of season if the new signings seem not to improve the team
Then not a penny more except for the money for the piece of paper for his p45

A good team is built on a good defence our defence as been shit for ages, if it wasn't for Butland last season God knows where we would of been. We play to much tip tap around in our area allowing teams to get back instead of breaking quickly. Hughes at the minute seems to think shaq can't play without arnie don't know why. Walters and crouch are good squad players but should be no where near the first 11. We need decent wing backs who can actually cross a ball and a striker who will get us at least 12-16 goals a season. We've never replaced nzoni either, comes out with January not being a great window that's ok but why not address it in the summer just gone. Think Coates as tightened the purse to pay for ground improvements

We could sign van dijk and he would be half the player in 12 month

If we keep playing shit, and West Brom improve, Berahino will change his mind about coming here, if it was true that he wants to, that is.

I don't get the hatred towards Klopp? He's clearly a fucking excellent manager. Because he's a twat? Jumping up and down on the touchline, bollocking his players if they don't do his headless chicken chase for 90 minutes, he'll have a heart attack before we get relegated. And that's what he's like when he's winning. Can't wait see him when the wheels come off and his players run out of steam following a half season of double training sessions morning and afternoon, 5 days a week, then on a saturday. Apart from that, i like him.

I think if WBA were in the top four he'd still tell them to fuck off. Tone is the stumbling block. He will be driven to try and finish above us at all costs. There's no way he'd make it easy for us to sign Berahino and see him come here and bang the goals in. He'd hate that more than anything, and i like the bloke.

To answer the original question - yes.
I'm assuming we have a scouting network and a dedicated transfer team in place with Hughes's involvement being supported by other. Don't forget we also have the award winning Tony Scholes to call upon.
