Interesting that he said that Hughes was not in any way frustrated in trying to sign any players.

Interesting that he said that Hughes was not in any way frustrated in trying to sign any players. More proof that he's lost the plot then if he failed to see the glaringly obvious deficiencies in our squad that needed addressing.

More damage limitation than fighting talk. Really don't like to see the club burying their collective head in the sand and Ryan sounding like a kid on the fucking naughty step with his hands in his pockets looking at the floor. Fucking man up Stoke.

Wtf do people want to hear our chairman saying? We all know we've had a shit start we need to stay as positive as we can. I know that's hard for some people but we are no where near relegated yet and have not been close in other seasons when we've had a poor start.

Benji was right, spent fuck all on defence just flashy forward players.
I hope we get to January not in the bottom 3 and we splash the cash on 3 or 4 defenders and a better second choice goalie.
Edit - And I called it at the time that Wolly would be a big miss.
One more edit - the last 7 or 8 games of last season was evidence that we needed new recruits at the back and nothing happened. Given was letting in goals left right and centre and that wasn't sorted either, made a rod for our own backs. Piss poor
Last edit - I'm going for a walk as I'm seething.

I want to see my Captain the team and the manager on Sky Sports full of passion and shouting "We are going to sort this out". When they walk on the pitch on a Saturday I want them to look fired up and fight for very ball. It does all look a bit apologetic and scared of losing at the moment

Interesting that he said that Hughes was not in any way frustrated in trying to sign any players. Well he's unlikely to be saying that ! it's mid September with 3 more months until the next transfer window. Other than the Berahino saga, we really don't know what was going on behind the scenes (rightly so) - I'm guessing that we just didn't manage to get one or two over the line. The spending we did, seemed to be quite costly for the players involved, but clubs "smaller" than ours spent a lot more Limited players available in January?

The only Premier League manager in recent memory who survived a crisis for more than a few months, that I can think of, was Steve Keane at Blackburn or Pardew at Newcastle. Big Sam was often under pressure at West Ham but eventually left.
I like Sparky a lot but it's looking bleak for him.

Peters lost the plot too.
Just reeling off excuses. Running down the last 6 games, giving every excuse under the sun for it.
I was so glad when Darren Lewis said its not just the last 6 games though is it Peter?
He sounded desperate more than anything.

FOR FUCK SAKE! WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT 5 GAMES THOUGH ARE WE PETER ITS BEEN GARBAGE SINCE FEBRUARY!!! I GIVE UP I REALLY DO You make a good point. Some Stoke fans don't give up on their club so quickly, they stick up for them through thick and thin. They chose to support a manager who has lead us to 3 top half places, and when we hit a rough patch they will the team on to recover their form and show a bit of loyalty. Do we want a club that sticks with their manager like Burnley or do you want a club that changes managers on a whim like Leeds and Watford? I often criticize on this MB but the bottom line is I support a Chairman who has taken the club from the wilderness to one of the major clubs in world football and I am prepared to back his judgement because I think he knows what he is doing. We are on a long journey that started 10 years ago when the club did not even own its own ground. We have hit a rough period this year triggered mainly by a tremendous amount of injuries and key players losing form. We know MH has an excellent record when he has been permitted to manage a club through a whole season, so we shouldn't let him go till he has had a reasonable chance to recover the situation which he hasn't with the injuries and fixtures so far this season. You say you "give up"; I hope the players aren't as faint-hearted as you appear to be.

He only left 3 weeks ago, our frailties at the back have been obvious for much longer than that. We shipped plenty of goals last season with him being an ever-present. It's plain our defensive coaching (if it exists at all) is ineffective and has been for months.

Regarding PC, MH & RS comments these last couple of days hardly instills confidence does it? Just need Scholes to come out with some nonsense to complete the set We still need support them and I'm sure we'll be trying our best these next few games but FFS what is happening to us?

Literally nothing positive coming out of anyone, Ryan says confidence is at an all time low, the squad aren't responding to anything on the pitch
Coates won't publicly say Hughes is up against it but in reality he must be, our poor form stretches back longer than this season and Coates won't make it worse by saying "He's got so many games or he's gone." If he can't turn it around and he does have to go it'll be out of the blue announcement wise from the club
