Every manager goes eventually. and when he does it's usually down to his own actions, not a specific player's.

What a ridiculous thread. Why is Imbula getting all this abuse he's one of our better players that's for sure. Probably because he ambles around the pitch like a lost sheep until the ball comes near him, then he decides to wake up and remember there is a football match going on around him. One thing that fans won't accept is someone who appears that he doesn't give a fuck and is unwilling to do the hard yards in the most combative area of a football pitch. It looks like it's a problem of his so he will always attract stick, which at the minute is definitely warranted in my opinion.

The need to shoehorn him in irrespective of form - even shifting to a formation that isn't working and sticking with it - might indirectly do for him if it carries on yeah.
But that will be Hughes costing himself his job.

From what I can see, nobody has. No, I can't see any abuse either. Perhaps an abusive post has been removed by admin - or do they always show up on the thread as removed posts? On the other hand perhaps Sharon's definition of abuse is when someone holds a different opinion to her and has the temerity to say so.

I will be honest I had never heard of him and I cannot remember him in Koln but I was pissed all weekend. So if he was so good how is it he could not get a place in Portos side playing in a league equal to our Div 1.

Not altering the formation to suit Imbula or Allen by dropping Whelan and putting Bojan behind Bony as well as not signing younger fullbacks might be the more pressing reasons.

I find it strange Hughes hasn't a least taken him out for a game or 2. When Affelay came last season he wasn't great to begin with so he got taken out. A few games later he was back in and was arguably one of our best players (one which I think we miss a lot) Maybe due to the price Hughes feels he has to play him.

I honestly thought we were getting a decent impression of Yaya when we signed him with his ability to shrug off challenges and go past players without appearing to change pace. He also displayed a threat at goal from distance. I thought he faded badly towards the end of last season but I was filled with renewed optimism following the Boro game but since then he has been awful (as have the rest of the players). I don't think he was decent against Spurs I thought he was fucking terrible. I have the unshakeable feeling that despite the obvious natural ability there is a flaw in his character which will prevent him being the footballer he could be.

I thought Afellay got a suspension, so had to be left out. I agree he is a big miss. He's also been happy to sub Imbula off. Let's see what happens, he may 'rest' him. I honestly think Imbula is a longer term project, unfortunate that for us that price tag adds a massive weight of expectation. I'm prepared to be patient for now. It's a shame there are several players who are 'projects' and need that patience.
