Good point ,centre halves improved second half .
As for those two fullbacks they nearly cost us the game so often.
Both got rinsed by Boros fullbacks regularly.
Bardsley is well past his sell buy and Pieters only has one gear SLOW and has needed replacing for 18 months..
Im sure our attacking play and options would improve as well with quicker fullbacks capable of joining in.

So we need a goalkeeper, a centre back, 2 fullbacks, a better winger, a proper whelan replacement and a striker.

Both fullbacks were toss, no other way of putting it.

Today they were our weakest links, agree to that. Hopefully they'll improve rapidly, as both usually are sound defensively, but today.......

A rare moment of universal consensus on this messageboard: our fullbacks were fucking woeful today.
That might have been Pieters' worst performance in a Stoke shirt.

Our centre backs got better as the game went on, but still a worry.
Full backs? I'm trying think of a stoke game where our two full backs were so bad both defensively and offensively.

All our full backs are too slow! That's just one point. Striker. Needed. I'll leave it at that for now!

Would Muni be an alternative LB?

Normally Bardsley defensively is okay, today that wasn't the case. The thing is by playing him we offer nothing out wide on the right hand side, if Johnson cant play again I'd prefer Cameron because he does offer more of an option on the right hand side despite not being quite so consistent defensively.

Both nearly cost us goals by getting done in the air at the back post. This would be TPs reasoning for having 4 CBs along the back line!

Would Muni be an alternative LB? He plays like a 12 year-old. For a defender his technical ability is outstanding, but his positioning and decision-making is horrendous. He is unfortunately one of those players who doesn't seem to learn from experience, so he is no better at LB now than he was when we first signed him.

Pieters didn't have a clue what was going on around him at times Can't get my head around it. He's a shadow of the player he was only 12-18 months ago. What happened? Sent from my SM-G928F using proboards

He thinks that he is a winger!

Pieters is the enigma. He's more of a worry, but Bardsley should be third RB behind Cameron after that garbage display. Johnson can't get fit fast enough for me. Hughes nearly got caught with that selection more so than Whelan.

A right back would be lovely. One that would remain fit for more than half a season would be even better, this is a consequence of signing old or and injury prone players, they are free or cheap for a reason.
