Or just following their religious beliefs/teachings. Perhaps - but the vast majority of mass shootings in the USA are not religiously motivated, nor do they have anything whatsoever to do with Islamic terrorism. Sorry if that doesn't suit your agenda, but it's a fact. We are talking about one particular act of slaughter you know the one in Florida hence the title of the thread, sorry if that does not suit your agenda but that is a fact, it is also a fact that this particular act of cowardly barbarism was carried out in the name of Islam by a Muslim, a Muslim following the teachings of the Quran one reiterated by his own father.

Fraise, I agree with you , as per the evidence of my previous post..Perhaps if this ideology could not be interpreted to hate certain groups and the west , thus giving some justification for barbaric behaviour, then this person may just have been persuaded /prevented from carrying out the act. In other words if the only message possible from Islam was "love and peace" to all humanity ( a bit like Mahatma Gandhi' s philosophy ) then perhaps this atrocity and those of the Taliban, Al Queida, Boka Haram, and lone operators could gave been prevented /discouraged. Religion is a powerful thing, a motivator and justification of both good and bad

Yes, I know the one. I have a lot of friends and family in Florida, a few of whom have been directly impacted by the particular act of slaughter that you seem to think I know nothing about. Of course, you are only interested in mass acts of slaughter if they line up with your bigoted agenda, so we should all refrain from expanding the conversation to include other incidents that can't be tied to Islamic fundamentalism. Deepest apologies for derailing your little party. Feel free to carry on beating yourself off for the cause though, looks like your having a good time on the back of another mass shooting. Pretty sure it was the highlight of the week for you.

Have you read the title of this thread ?, is it a case of you trying to deflect from the truth of this particular massacre because of the religion of the perpetrator, we have as you probably know have been the victims of their hatred of western lifestyle on European soil, these barbaric religiously motivated attacks are intensifying all across the world, no point in hiding one's head in the sand Islam is becoming a major threat to world peace.

Yeah, I can read. I can also accept that Islamic terrorism is a huge global issue and I don't have my head buried in the sand. I can also have an opinion, based on fact, that the majority of mass shootings in the US have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam, Muslims or any other religion. In fact, there are more people killed in the US each year by TODDLERS with guns that by Islamic extremists. It's a broader conversation than just Islamic terrorism, but again, I understand that doesn't fit your agenda. You only want to talk about your hysterical, knicker wetting phobia of anything Islamic and have no fucking clue about the broader issues around the almost daily mass murders occurring across the US.

It is frightening that America is far closer to banning Muslims than banning guns.

It is frightening that America is far closer to banning Muslims than banning guns. President Trump walks up to the mic, he leans on the podium as he prepares to address the large crowd gathered at the steps of the Washington Monument for the weekly 'Making 'Murica Great Again' rally. "Alright folks, we went ahead and legalized weed, but..." Loud cheers and plumes of smoke erupt from the crowd. Trump holds up one of his abnormally large hands and the cheers simmer down, "But, and this will be temporary, at least until we can figure out what the heck is going on," He flashes his billionaire smile, "we're gonna go ahead and make Islam illegal." Even louder cheers erupt. Cowbells and air horns then round after round of AR-15 fire blasts into the air symbolizing the freedom that President Trump had to fight so hard to achieve. The freedom to deny religious freedom. Pandemonium and joy erupts throughout the states. Across the pond, crapslinger pumps a fist in the air, for world peace might finally be attainable now that the apologists have been defeated, and that foul and disgraceful religion of hate can finally be eradicated. Meanwhile, in Syria, ISIS rejoices at the prospect of thousands of new recruits joining in their jihad. Millions of displaced muslim refugees flock to the middle east to escape religious persecution and internment camps.

Nowt wrong with my spelling, mate. Just wondering if the entire "Britain First" movement are responsible for today's shooting. You know, considering you think it's sensible to hold 1.6 billion Muslims accountable for a solitary nut job that murdered 49 people in Florida.

Have they claimed responsibility for this callous act of cowardly murder ?, if they have claimed one of their soldiers was involved then yes they should be held accountable, as should any organisation that teaches it's followers to murder innocent people, do you understand that maybe you have better access to the facts behind this terrible act in the US of A than we do in the UK, please keep us up to date it is much appreciated.

Made up, but no bullshit. Fiction, made up, not factual, based on theory not fact, not real, figment of the imagination = BULLSHIT, HORSESHIT or just SHIT whatever way you cut it cowboy fact. Not everything is so black and white. Fiction is made up, but that doesn't mean it isn't based in reality. Take satire, for example, it's social commentary, the story might be fiction, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't accurately represent real aspects of society. Trump has said he wants to ban Muslims from entering the US, that's a fact. It's not bullshit then to paint him as someone who would try to institute such a ban, when he has said that's what he'd do. The fiction has to do with the fact that he is yet to have been elected. On another note, have you ever heard of the psychological theory of confirmation bias? I'd like to know your thoughts on it.
