This is the player we signed and hes class however we are going to lose him in patches with these twitch muscle injuries. However like hughes said hes adapted to the league now and shouldn't need time to get back up to speed after absence as hes shown so far this season.

The majority of the criticism of Shaqiri at the time this thread was started was warranted, bar a few loons like March Apart from these loons, the only bloke that should feel embarrassed is the sad fucker who dredged it back up.

Jesus there's some self righteous bollox on this thread tonight. You don't see the posters who were questioning the likes of Joselu/Wollscheid/Imbula etc. pulling up old threads saying "look I was right back then, even Hughes is questioning their suitability too now" do you? So why pull up old threads trying to make people look stupid for the opinions they held AT THE TIME? It completely lacks any class whatsoever. Some people won't be happy until all we have on every thread is.... "I think player x is wonderful" or "Let's just sit back and see what player x can do" Dull! You wouldn't mind, but people doing the dredging or revelling in the dredging rarely contribute a point anyway!

Just caught up on last night's MOD and Danny Murphy said what probably summed up my original comment - 'Shaqiri turned up today but he hasn't done that often enough since he's been at Stoke'. Long may it continue! But I can't be the only one who thought he's gone through the motions a number of times he's pulled on the red & white shirt He also said something along the lines of 'he's been injured so maybe it's taken time for him to get back to his best'. Such a shame some of our own fans can't bring themselves to show the same consideration.

I actually thought he was one of our better players from January. Good to see him scoring more. He needs to shoot more often, the Sunderland game was an example of that where he trended to dick about with it over shooting. Fabulous player.
No need to bring up old threads though.

It can't be denied that Shaq disappointed last season given the fanfare of his arrival. It appears that he is getting to grips with PL football and is starting to produce some of the stuff he's capable of. Been terrific last few games, long may it continue.

This is his year, I expect 10 goals minimum from his. Hopefully he stays fit. He's settled in now and are starting to see the best of him now.
