Yet another poor performance from Shaq and I really do feel that he's just going through the motions and picking up his wage without putting in the effort that I would expect from any Stoke player pulling on the red and white stripes.
Man City & Everton games aside he's been ineffective and offered little offensively and really poor when it's comes to the defensive duties required at this level.
Stoke have some major work to do on revamping the squad over the summer but for me Shaq would be one of the players I would be happiest to see go from the regular starters.
With the likelihood that Arnie will move on in the summer we probably need two new wingers - Yarmolenko anyone?

We need to keep him and start to try and release him early. Yesterday he wanted the ball early plenty of times but he wasn't used.

I hope they review his season with him in the summer and set him a plan for pre season setting out what he needs to do , he has been a massive let down for me considering his reputation and price .
So far I can only see why Inter were so keen to get rid of him and suspect he will end up in China America or the gulf

Very frustrating for me. Needs to work a bit harder and stay switched on. Couple of times when he had a delayed reaction in what was going on.
I wish he'd start shooting and also when he's beat his man don't stop so he can beat him again and just get the ball in the box.
That said, he's in his first season still. He's shown glimpses of what he can do and he is a match winner on his day. He has improved the defensive aspect of his game and it is hard to ask someone like him to do that so maybe I'm being a bit harsh.

Keep him for at least one more year, unless someone offers at least what we paid for him (which they wont, for one more year).

The issue is that he won't have a full preseason again as he's at the Euros

Keep. He's underperforming but so is the whole squad. The work that needs to be done doesn't involve ditching what we have, but getting more out of them. The potential was evident earlier in the season, the recent dire run hasn't changed that.

It would be ridiculous to try to sell him, he shows in flashes what he can do and its not easy to win matches when you're half cricked and everyone around you is dropping like flies. I think he's brilliant when he's on it and will only get better. Knee jerk reactions are typical of this board and whilst understandable are not very constructive

He had no pre-season, not even with Inter Milan. He didn't play consistently last season and he's has had to adapt to a much higher paced league and settle at a new club. Bojan wasn't great when he first came. On top of that, whether we like it or not, the players going to the Euros (including Shaqiri) aren't going to want to get themselves injured.
Considering the amount of injuries we've picked up over the season, and the amount of key players who didn't even have a pre-season (e.g. Shawcross, Bojan, Shaqiri etc), I wrote this season off a while back in terms of judging players.

Keep. Underused yesterday despite all the space he had. Lot more logical choices of players that will be going anyway. Too good to lose.
None question IMO.

I think he has been poor this year, but some players need more time to settle. I would keep him for another 12 months to see what he is capable of next season

He's shown glimpses in games (Everton / Bournemouth) of what he is capable of...I would just love to have a full season of him on top form...whether that will happen...who knows?

It'd be nice to get him some winger competition to test his resolve (Redmond or such?), rather than playing strikers out wide who usually would be more effective elsewhere. I do wish he took on his man more though

What we need to do for starters is to get to the bottom of these niggling hamstring injuries that he's been suffering with since before we signed him.

It's got to the point where I'm not bothered and by the looks of it neither is he. What his he actually good at? He can't beat a man, his crossing is largely poor, he can't head, he falls over all the time and obviously can't track back or tackle. He's a very average player for us sadly and he's easily been the biggest disappointment this season.

What should spurs have done with lamela? They spent 25m on him 3 years ago and he was shit. How is he now?

His chance creation was very impressive earlier on in the season, he's scored the goal of the season for me and he has definitely showed world class signs. Some people have no patience.

Keep him for at least another season. Due to reoccurring injuries he's never quite got going.
He needs a proper pre season and some decent conditioning as he looks too bulky. Strength isn't a big part of his game. He looks like he really needs to trim down.
He's shown enough for me to show hes got top class ability in his locker.

I'm like most fans... waiting for next season to see not only how Shaq performs, but quite a lot of the other buys too. If Hughes can get them to gel and all perform at their best then we have one hell of a squad. So... keep.
OS.

What a pre-season won't cure is his set piece efforts. I thought they were supposed to be major feature in his armoury. What's gone wrong there???

Spotted that as well, even where I was sitting. He kept hitting that particular slippy bit just on the edge of the area.
Mind you, he wasn't a member of a select group in that dept.

Definatley keep, at some point next season when eventually things click with all of the team, he will be superb. I think his tag of being the player with the highest wages bears heavily on him.

Good point. He's built like a brick shit house and manages somehow to find any one of a myriad of muscles to pull Wonder if Chris Hoy had the same problems. Those two should have a chat.
