Would it bother anybody if any of our squad 'came out'? Would you treat them differently on the pitch?
Surely there are some current squad players who are gay. If so, who I wonder?
& for the record, I couldn't give a monkeys if they were gay or straight.

Absolutely not, it wouldn't bother me nor would I hope a vast section of 'our' supporters..

Depends on the player as far as this board goes.
For example Bojan would become a sex symbol but Walters would probably be ridiculed.

How many of our squad don't have girlfriends & are not deeply religious. That could be an indication

Their personal life is their business and makes no difference to me aslong as they give 100% to the Stoke City cause.Although i would not be a happy to see a Adam Johnson,Lee Hughes type playing for us.

Every holes a goal so they say And Diouf still wouldn't score.

Well in Adam Johnson's case he is pleading guilty and Lee Hughes has already been convicted so why would they need to wear a badge?

Well in Adam Johnson's case he is pleading guilty and Lee Hughes has already been convicted so why would they need to wear a badge? Yes, but when they signed for their clubs they had not been found guilty of anything. I doubt there is a cat in hell's chance of stoke signing a convicted sex offender - but, like any other club, they may one day sign someone who went on to become a sex offender and we, as fans, would have no idea until or unless they were arrested. I'm also a bit concerned about you correlating a sex offender with someone who is gay. One is a criminal and the other simply has a life style which in most enlightened countries of the world is perfectly legal.

Just when you think we've moved on, suddenly we're back in the fifties! I don't give a toss if any players are gay, but why even bring up the subject? Do you want a player to be questioned about his sexuality and forced to confirm or deny? Do we want another Justin Fashanu situation? FFS!

It will take a very brave player to be the first to come out while still playing.
However, I think they would be shocked and pleasantly surprised at the support they received.
Even if it was Jack Wilshere

Even if it was Jack Wilshere I'd give a round of applause to any player who'd been brave enough to come out who walked out onto our pitch, whoever they played for.

Surely we would stone then and burn them in the car park after? Really, who gives a fuck? Sadly, far too many (although a minority) give a fuck - both as individuals and especially the British media. That's why so few sportsmen and women who are gay ever come out about it during their careers.

It is sad that none of them feel like they can come out.
I think on the whole the support they would get would be excellent.

It shouldn't really matter if someone is gay, their choice of sexuality has absolutely zero impact on how well or how badly they perform for Stoke.
Just to give you a different perspective on the subject, I am a bisexual male who has had both male and female partners and I am currently in a relationship with a male. I was at first terrified to tell the lads I go to Stoke with (due to the obvious macho stigma attached to going the match) but they have all been fantastic about it. Of course you get the piss taken from time to time. But at the end of the day it shouldn't matter what goes on behind closed doors.
