Things stepped up a bit when SJW got bought on. He harassed and worked them. Nice job. Great pull back for our 3rd goal and was grinning like a Cheshire Evertonian at the end.

Some goal.
I wish I was as lacking in technical ability as SJW.

SJW is a footballing enigma! Fifty percent of him and his performance is Ronaldo and fifty percent of him is Umpa Lumpa. During games he can do things that make him look like a Sunday Morning pub player and then we see outstanding goals from nowhere as against Doncaster. As admirable and valuable as SJW has been for the last three seasons we have been in a position where it is clear that we need to sign players who offer more than John if we are to progress into the higher levels. All credit to John Walters that he has raised his game and is not relinquishing his position without a fight. We will not move forward though until SJW is a bit part player on merit. Although I really value his contribution to our progress I would not argue if he and Crouch were used as bargaining chips to pry Berahino away from West Brom.

Hardly a sitter in the Crouch mound though. That's the one. Definitely not in the same league as Crouch but then in Peter's defence he does have unfeasibly long legs which seemed to cause him a problem in that instance. Re. the Walter's opportunity he's been pilloried in the past for misses nowhere near as bad as the one yesterday.

He didn't toe bunt it at all but no doubt you'll disagree despite the video evidence. Other than that I thought he was abysmal.

To be fair to Jon he ain't going to go away quietly and amen to that as Stoke City are benefiting greatly from his attitude.
Can't see him starting many league games but will be a great option from the bench.

His all round play was pretty good as well, used the ball and always found his man.
If Shaqiri is not 100% on Wednesday I would prefer to see Walters starting out on the right. The guy always has a point to prove

The guy always has a point to prove He's usually at his best when he has a point to prove and he's been out of the team. Conversely he's usually poor after a long run in the team. I think MH knows this now and will be able to get the best out of Jon.

Praising SJW is all well and good
BUT
Crouch getting criticised for that supposed miss ?
'a SITTER' ??????
he was in the 6 yard box and it came off the goalie STRAIGHT AT HIM AT PACE
he was lucky to get anything on it at all !
and
he had about 0.2 seconds to react FFS!
WHAT TOTAL FUCKING BOLLOCKS SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY WRITE ON HERE
experts eh ????

I saw it quite differently
imagine yourself in that position
(and Im assuming by your views - you've bestowed upon yourself, better reflexes than an international opening batsman in a test match too )
easier to score than miss ?
my arse ! (with all due respect)

He played well yesterday. I thought all of the front 4 did, they did well with what little they had.
It wasn't a sitter for Crouch but he should score.

(with all due respect) I was a goalkeeper so I could miss from anywhere :-) but I wasn't paid 50k per week to score goals. Diouf, Walters or Joselu would have been slaughtered for that. Even crouch's reaction tells you he should have scored.
