So pleased the boy is finally getting the recognition he deserves, was absolutely terrific once again against Everton! Questions over him when he first signed about where he'd play and would he make it in the league, however he has cemented his spot in midfield and looks one hell of a player still. He is athletic, brilliant on the ball, works his bollocks off and doesn't mind getting stuck in too, really think he is one of the key components to our recent success! Just needs to improve his eye for goal and he'll be compete. How lucky we are to have such a quality contingent of players!
Bravo Ibrahim!!

The boy is doing tremendously well. Another of Hughes's signings that have needed time to bed down and have done so, and we all know he's a tremendous signing.

I thought he was off the pace today. In fact, I thought all 3 of the midfield were below par.Our centre halves were exposed many times today due to our midfields inability to cut off the Everton ball in and around the penalty area. Glad we got the win but defensively today we were poor.

His and Cameron's ability to trap a player and take the ball was great. Didn't always come off, but they work well together.

I was impressed with how Everton moved the ball. The number of players that broke in support of their 3rd goal was scary. I think I am getting too used to us conceeding nil. Recently,we have been so tight defensively as a team that my expectations have soared. Just watching the full game again on TV. Currently winning 2-1 in the 60th minute.

Glad we got the win but defensively today we were poor. Just posted a question on the main thread about Ryan's positioning on the Everton goals. Think I'd have to watch the goals again to make comment but I did notice that Ryan did seem to push high up the pitch on several occasions yesterday. I'm a huge fan of Erik but I thought he was given a tough time; he survived it and stood up well but certainly not his best game and you could see some refs giving that tackle on Coleman as a peno on another day. As for Afellay, he's looked so composed and assured in that midfield three since he's been there it's unreal. Looks like he's always played there in that role. I was unsure about where he would fit in when he came to us, especially when LMH seemed to be doing everything he could to shoehorn him into the team early in the season, but we seem to have found the perfect role for him. That adage of 'form is temporary, class is permanent' has never been more pertinent.

At 3-3 I thought he was running out of steam and the game was passing him by. Then the lad finds another gear and runs at them. At the start of the season I said he would be our best signing of the summer. I stand by that as the lad still ain't peaked yet

He works as hard as anyone, always running, always closing players down, not something you would have associated with him. I think he's turned into one hell of a signing, perhaps the leagues best on a free (along with GJ)

Thought he was a bit lightweight when he arrived, but I think he must have been hitting the weights with Bojan lately!

Everyone's talking about the front three, but our middle three are the ones making the big difference now. Affellay is far far better than I thought he'd be able to be for us and is still young enough to have a few decent years for us!

That was a very good interview, seems to have grown as a person and it sounds like the style of play is very important to the players.

The only danger with Afellay was going to be his age and could he adjust quick enough. Which he has.
His ability as a footballer should have never been in doubt.
