48 pages later YAWWWNNNNNNN He doesn't look at all like he is trying to square it. Sublime bit of skill from a top player. Shearer, Lineker and Wright are not in the same class, my opinion and I am entitled to it. Lineker was good at getting into the box and scoring from 6 yards out, Shearer was a bit better but still a donkey brain and Wright, well he was ok, just ok in my book. But when all is said and done, what have these three 'world class' strikers ever achieved for their country if they are that awesome? On MOTD I think there was a bit of banter coupled with a bit of professional jealousy going down, simple as that. Just enjoy the fact that we have a class athlete in our ranks who will pull off this kind of wonder goal again in the near future, bloody brilliant! I am normally a glass half empty kind of Stokie, can't help it really and even I am finding it difficult to believe that we are playing with such class and authority these days. I am trying to just enjoy the ride while it lasts. Shaq definitely caressed that ball into the net, hence the total gob smacked silence after it went in. The 48 pages are from the match thread mate, it's been merged. I'm afraid the rest of what you say is not to be taken seriously after that comedy paragraph about the three English strikers. I like to entertain and amuse you pl but tell me, what exactly have those three achieved for their country that makes them so super human in your eyes? Plus you still maintain that Shaq meant to cross the ball?

Great write up from Chief, he also is of the opinion that Shaq meant that chip all day long. Give it up, you know you are just on a wind up pl.

Their careers and statistics at the top level speak for themselves. Look up their records and some of the goals they scored and tell me with a straight face you think "donkey brain" and "he was ok" adequately sum them up. And yes I think it was a cross. I can't be certain but then nobody can

Ok I will admit my vision is clouded severely(!) by the fact that Shearer winds me up on an almost weekly basis with some of the inane stuff that he blurts out. He can be bloody tiresome as you well know and ok I was harsh regarding Wright too, but the question remains, these superstars that you seem to hold in such high regard, what have they achieved for their country in the past? The answer is bugger all really and you know it. To quote you 'if Shaqiri has anything like the career those three had he'll be a lucky boy', well I think the best is yet to come from our own personal genie so watch this space. Plus he meant that sublime chip, it was not a cross. His body language just before and after the strike gives it away big time, chip all day long. Keep watching it back and you will get it eventually trust me.

Ok I will start eating the humble pie now then. The Mail and Talksport are obviously the bastions of all things true, must read the Mail more often from now on and ditch the Independent

Shearer and Lineker were all-time England greats, absolutely no question about it. If you mean winning trophies, well the two current best players in the world have never won anything with their country either - are Ronaldo and Messi just "ok" players now as well?

If you mean winning trophies, well the two current best players in the world have never won anything with their country either - are Ronaldo and Messi just "ok" players now as well? Bizarre standard? Call it what you like, so you think that Shaqiri will do well to reach the standard of these three truly greats in your book? I do tend to measure greatness on a world stage it's true, not just on the basis of 'all time England greats'. Yes I also think it is unusual that Ronaldo and Messi have not won anything with their respective countries yet, there is still time no doubt for both of them. Unfortunately (or is it fortunately?) I come from an era when the likes of Geoff Hurst, Bobby Charlton et al were giving it large on the world stage and winning the biggest trophy that has eluded the truly 'great' English strikers you seem to hold so dear. Lighten up, these are great days to be a Stokie and a bright 2016 beckons full of promise. Happy New Year matey!
