Did you live in Stoke in the 90's ?, maybe the way they behaved when they had their brief period above us would explain many people's feelings towards the feckers. No, I left Stoke in the very early 80's. So they took this piss. I don't blame them. We were shite and they were punching above their weight. Ultimately at the end of the day I have way more respect for a delusional Vale fan than I do for some cunt 'up hanley duck' wearing his Shit, Chelsea or Man City shirt. GD I agree with the last comment you have made there However you are dismissing the experience locally based Stoke fans had at that time

Makes the Boer War sound like a picnic.

Time for a reprise of this... Thank you for posting this. It's one of the most bizarre and entertaining things I've seen for a while But I'm not going to ridicule him or play billy big time . He's a real fan trying to actually do something for his club, even if it is a bit odd and misguided. I find some of this thread depressing. I wish Vale and their fans well. They are proud fans of a club which is part of the sporting and cultural heritage of the great City of Stoke on Trent. Generalisations about fans of other clubs are never well-founded. They are fans just like us. What we have in common as footy fans is far more important than the on-filed rivalries. We have an active Vale fan on the FSF National Council. Just last night at our annual awards ceremony she was complimenting me on Stoke's performance on Saturday. I am certainly not going to turn round and say that I don't care if her club goes out of business. Quite the contrary. We had some great derby games with them; great atmospheres; great memories, even they weren't all good memories for us - from Regis' shot sticking in the mud to Steinos late winning penalty. It won't happen again any time soon because we are now poles apart on and off the pitch, but IMHO that's not a reason for either arrogance or wishing them ill.

It's an open forum you muppet. It doesn't matter who you're asking. Stoke fans went to Vale park long before I did and fans will go down (providing they don't fold) long after. Again, the amount of petulant insults towards them and the fact you can't give a reasonable reply does indeed say more about you. I fail to understand how people can carry such hate for a club and their fans that are now so ridiculously far behind us. For what it's worth I'd absolutely love to go back to 94-95 and experience a derby when we were both at level footing just once more. Your last paragraph says all I need to know about you, do you have a tardis on hand scrounging tin pot club, horrible cuntish fans the sooner they are out of business the better for the City as a whole. How is it better for the city? Job losses, income from match days for local pubs and shops. You really are a weapon to wish a club (even Vale) to go out of business.

In a city of Stoke on Trent's size they remain a small but persistent drag on our potential as a club.

The Vale have inflicted so much economical damage to this City with their careless and shoddy running of the club. It's not just once either, it's happened a few times. Businesses having to wipe out debt owed to themselves by Port Vale, being forced to fold or at best accept huge losses whilst the Vale plod on just to end up in the same old shit stained messy underwear after having their arseholes wiped by an ever-so-generous City council also owed hundreds of thousands of pounds they'll never see a penny of. We can try to be sympathetic but what is the point ? Port Vale are little more than a parasite riding on the local taxpayer's back. They have gone into administration twice and I'll bet you it happens again.... And cause further misery to local small and large businesses. And don't get me started on their fucking horrible wank stain supporters. Yeah, I was there to see it all in the 90's and i still remember it now. The sooner that shitty club fucks off back to non league football for good, the better !!

They probably have 4000 hardcore fans (at a push), and none of those are suddenly going to become season tkt holders at the Brit are they? I find it sad that people wish to see any club go to the wall...even Vale

I worked at Rail House during the 90s with Vale and Crewe fans and even though they took the piss, they also knew it was only temporary and Stoke would eventually overtake them. I met up last year at MK with one of my mates who is a Vale fan for his 40th, it's a different world a free mini-bus to the ground but fair play to them they still keep going.

The 4000 die hards are unimportant, its the other 16,000 - 18,000 they would take to Wembley for the play offs/Johnson's paint trophy etc. We need them and (more realistically) their descendants at a 36,000 or 40,000 capacity Brit in 20 - 25 years time. I just want the best for my club Stoke. Vale can go whistle.

This and every other season 2 clubs with life long supporters will drop out of the league. I look forward to the day it's the Vagrants. It's a win for all involved, the couple of dozen life long fans can continue to follow their club, Stoke will increase their customer base and I can carry on laughing at them. Relegation, rather Vale than anyone else x 1,000,000.

The sooner that shitty club fucks off back to non league football for good, the better !! Were we not bailed out by the council in our move to the Brit? We were not bailed out. The council took a stake in the stadium. They commanded an annual share of the profits on an annual basis. They sold their stake back to Mr Coates. In round numbers. ( I am not saying this is exactly right) they invested about £3.5m, received about £1m over the subsequent years in profit share payments and sold there stake back for I think £4.5m. May not be the exact figures, but the council has not lost any money. Add to this investment on the site from European money and the employment as the site has expanded. The bit they could not have factored in is the income generated into the city since our promotion, but never the less, it adds to the positive financial result for the council. Compare this to writing off a large loan for the Vale, tax payers money, at the time they were closing down key social services. There should have been some kind of hold over the Vale Park site to recover this money at an appropriate point in the future, (I believe I am correct in stating that no other English council has done this for their local club, where there has. Even investment, a share of ownership has ensued) Having said all of this, and I accept most of their fans are bitter and twisted In their resentment of SCFC, I take no pleasure in their plight. I do not wish to see them compete with us any time soon, but they are a local club and I would not wish to see them go under. If I was not a Stokie, I would have been Vale as opposed to glory hunting like a lot of people in this city do.

Then they had their 5 minutes of glory above us and wished nothing but ill upon us and laughed at our financial plight. They had zero sympathy for us and everyone of the feckers hoped we would die a slow agonising painful death. But what goes around, goes around and now the historical pecking order has very much returned, as we all deep down knew it would, lest we forget folk lest we forget! Two wrongs don't make a right
