One sellable asset - The pig sty. Lower league status and a poor squad of players. An awfully low fan base with little to zero scope to an increase in average attendances. The Vale are in real danger again, there could be very serious trouble brewing for them if they fail (no pun intended) to get a serious investor/investors with some proper money to turn them around. I feel no pity for them, they don't deserve our pity and wouldn't expect it I guess, just as we'd expect none in return. I suspect that their tale of woe is soon to take a turn for the worse as the calamitously run club sees the wheels completely fall off and they get derailed to the point of being an unsalvageable wreckage of a football club. Part of me sort of hopes they do find a way out, but I doubt it will happen. They'll find a short term fix at best, and then most likely find themselves in the shit a few years down the line. Dark times for The Vagrants. Their fan base is old, people's disposable income is dwindling. Most of the old, devout Bell/Rudge era Failites are on fixed incomes/low wage. Little chance of converting younger people in SoT into Fail fans. Smurf has realised that for all his hard work and effort (and to be fair to him, he's put his own money in and become a "fan" who shows his passion) he's getting nothing back from the deadweights in Tunstall/Burslum/Chell Heath who should be stepping up to put money back into the club. I was thinking something along these lines. I feel a bit sorry for him. The guy is obviously a clown but he has put his hand in his pocket. He was presumably expecting the unwashed to do something similar. Instead they have sat on their hands moaning. Can't go bust quick enough for me.

Just listened to his interview. Feel for him in a way - but Christ knows what he's expecting. You've got to be a bit nuts to take over a club at that level unless you're just doing it as a hobby and you don't mind losing money hand over fist. And it's not as if Vale are underperforming to a massive degree. Just plodding along in the mediocre way they normally do. Smurf: "If I was a Vale fan now, after the cup exit, what have I got to look forward to?" Presenter: "Play-off push maybe?" Smurf: "What, with this squad?" Did he actually say that? Fucking hell, that's amateur. I can quite believe he said that, The guy is a complete fruitcake!

The person I've drawn in Secret Santa is a Vale fan. The spending limit is £5. Should I ring Norm & offer £4.50?

The only way this weekend could have been better would have been if I'd won the lottery. So you win the lottery. 10 million smackeroonies. You go on the bender to end all benders. You wake up the next afternoon feeling like utter shit. All you can remember vaguely is bumping into this bloke who looked like Santa Claus. You look down, and in your hand is a rolled up scroll of paper. You unroll the paper and the full horror dawns on you as you read... TITLE DEEDS : PURCHASED £10M WEMBLEY OF THE NORTH.

One of the best things that could happen to Stoke City moving forward would be for these no hopers to go bust. Would probably put 5-10K on our crowds within a decade as the youngsters coming through would have no choice other than to jump on the SCFC bandwagon rather than being brainwashed into a life of no hope by their die hard parents Vale allegiance.
Supply and Demand basically.
In the 70' and 80's harmony existed between the 2 clubs and the annual pre season friendly was a family day out and fans mingled with each other.
Then they had their 5 minutes of glory above us and wished nothing but ill upon us and laughed at our financial plight. They had zero sympathy for us and everyone of the feckers hoped we would die a slow agonising painful death.
But what goes around, goes around and now the historical pecking order has very much returned, as we all deep down knew it would, lest we forget folk lest we forget!

I'm sorry. I don't want the great unwashed to go bust. it's part of Stoke on Trent. Why would you wish death on them ? GD Did you live in Stoke in the 90's ?, maybe the way they behaved when they had their brief period above us would explain many people's feelings towards the feckers. I grew up in the 90's and our old derbies always left quite a memory with me. Frankly the people with your mind set are no better than the blokes that attend the Vale that still sing about Steino (it does still happen, I've been down from time to time). Be the bigger man, says more about us having a massive chip on our shoulders about some nasty men and what they said in the fucking 90's. Get over it. As for the Vale, I thought they were doing alright in the league, as the stat above suggests. Smurf has always struck me as a strange 'un tough.

The Vale laughed, mocked, wrote into the Sentinel and made our demise the highest point in their own clubs' history during the 90's and they'll find very little sympathy from anybody who caught their acid tongued reactions back then. In fact, they're more likely to see most of us celebrate as their club gets sucked down the plug hole and shat into the sewers where they belong. Part of me doesn't want that - the tiny part which knows they have loyal, true fans. The rest of me has just put the Champagne on ice !!

I'd imagine that sales in razors and paracetamol will sky rocket around the Burslum, Tunstall & Chell area after the Failures watch Exeter get drawn to play Liverpool. Smurf must feel a bit sick too. Come to think of it, if the Failures put the cash they were going to spend on razors & paracetamol in a few buckets (i'll never forget the bucket jangling that went on at the sty) they could probably buy the club (The Failures 2015) !!

Was I asking you ? says it all that you would step foot in Vile Park when they were not playing Stoke , the bile they poured out was endemic of the scum that they are, would love to see them go bust the feckin tin pot twats, the Council should not have saved them with tax payers money last time they were in admin.

Funny, I remember some proper ding dongs, olbas oil, a couple of times knives being pulled, bricks and rocks, going in the Vale part of the ground and general tear ups all around.

It's an open forum you muppet. It doesn't matter who you're asking. Stoke fans went to Vale park long before I did and fans will go down (providing they don't fold) long after. Again, the amount of petulant insults towards them and the fact you can't give a reasonable reply does indeed say more about you.
I fail to understand how people can carry such hate for a club and their fans that are now so ridiculously far behind us. For what it's worth I'd absolutely love to go back to 94-95 and experience a derby when we were both at level footing just once more.

What does it say about me exactly? I'm talking about the thrill of those derbies, the unpredictable nature of them, the utter fucking joyous moment we'd score against them and the bragging rights that came with it. I'm not saying what I imagine you're suggesting. I think the rivalry the Mancs and Scousers have is something in football to be envied.

Karma's a wonderful thing.
I don't want the Vile to fold as they provide a regular source of comedy, but I would like to see them suffer a Stockport-style decline and drop to the Vanarama North, whilst their declining support continues to drift off to support their Premier neighbours instead.
Stoke-on-Trent only needs one club.

I was about to agree with you until your last sentence, no way would I love to go back to 94/95 and play a derby on a level footing , because that would mean us being relegated at least 2 divisions as there is no way that Vale are going to get in the Prem. in the foreseeable future
