If that's a perfectly timed tackle I'd hate to see a bad one. When Shawcross was going for the ball I'm fairly sure he expected the ball to be going in the direction of Sunderlands goal and not towards our own, considering Watmore got to the ball 1st I'd love know how it should have been a booking for him. For the record I don't think it should have been a booking for Shawcross but I do think it was a foul. He got done by a quicker player but he still got a little touch of the ball so shouldn't of been a bookable offence. Thanks for clearing up the yellow/red card situation as above but as for the reply here I can't understand how anyone cannot see that the correct decision by incompetent mr dean would of been NO DECISION to make and play on! We might as well pack in going to watch football anymore if the officials are going to persist in making it a none contact sport! Shawcross played the ball therefore there was no foul! Whatmore proceded through his momentum to clatter into Ryan and did as all players do in lots of situations appeal his cause, it's up to the officials not to be swayed by the theatrics. It's nothing to do with becoming an non contact sport. Watmore got to the ball 1st, if he hadn't Ryan would have sent the ball either into the stands by the half way line or down the flank. If Watmore hadn't have got to the ball 1st then it wouldn't have been a foul, as it was Shawcross never played the ball, he was a fraction too slow and ended up just getting a nick on it after Watmore had played the ball. A simple foul but certainly not a booking.

Have to agree to disagree then Brit, except we both agree it wasn't a booking, Shawcross played the ball before any contact made therefore there is no foul, and as I said before how the hell can there not be any form of contact when contesting the ball? Joke decision which almost certainly cost us a point.
