Holy mackerel. I'd sooner give it that lad at Bournemouth than big fat faced Sam!

Is it just conceivably possible that we're saving ourselves for the cup tie, and are going all out to win something at long last? I bloody well hope so!

Unfortunately, yesterday didn't inspire much confidence. Let's hope it's a bump in the road. I didn't have the money to go to the LC Final in '72 and seeing Stoke at Wembley is on my bucket list.

By everyone... Tired legs or too much possession and not enough movement? We lost the fourth highest runner in the league. The difference is there for all to see

By everyone... Tired legs or too much possession and not enough movement? Having watched the game on a dodgy stream, this stat doesn't surprise me. There seem to be two Stokes at present. The one which beat Southampton played with urgency, counter-attacked at speed, made runs for each other and was positive. The one which played at Sunderland looked complacent and wanted things too easy (I blame Corbyn). We need the first Stoke to turn up on Tuesday or we'll struggle.

We got Ryan sent off by sending him back out all allardyce would have been nullified if we had done that so naive it's untrue What??? Shawcross got the ball clearly.

One of our coaches broke down on the way home yesterday, not sure where just heard when we got back to Stoke. Hope everybody was ok.Weather was horrendous coming over the M62, the wind blew one of our wipers off and the driver had to stop to sort it out.End of a perfect day really add to that the bloke sitting next to me keep farting and they smelt!!! The best ones always do Homer. Back in the sixties a good friend of mine went on a cultural exchange trip to the Soviet Union. They were all put up in a large dormitory. Russians and Brits together. My mate let rip a good one. In his words "what with the travelling and different food, I had not had a shit for a few days. So this fart really stank which upset the Ruskies who were shouting at me. The interpreter told me they were calling me a dirty bastard. All the brits were rolling about laughing. So I told the interpreter to tell them It was a poor day for the Soviet Union if they could not stand the smell of a comrades shit" Did very little to improve Soviet - British relations.

Same ground usual result. But the bit that grated me more was fat Sam doing a pulis on the touchline. As you recall pulis lost any semblance of respectibility after his antics at the brit and this was no different. A disgrace by the fat fuck. We didn't lose because of the Allardice sideshow, or because of Sunderland players throwing themselves around, or the referee. Other than possibly Defoe, I can't think of another Sunderland player I'd want at Stoke. We've got better players in every position, but they have to do more than just turn up. It was our own shortcomings which cost us the game yesterday. We've got better players in every position than Sheffield Wednesday. If our players apply themselves properly, we'll win easily. But if they're complacent again, like yesterday, we'll be in trouble.

What??? Shawcross got the ball clearly. He certainly did. He did, but that doesn't make it not a foul. It was very silly of him to dive in and give the ref the option.

Ryan made a perfectly timed clean tackle. Watmore charged into a player who was on the floor after playing the ball.
I don't understand why Watmore was not given a yellow card*. Surely he should have pulled out of the challenge when it became clear he could not reach the ball first.
* I do really know why he wasn't given a yellow card; Mike Dean loves to fuck SCFC.

Ryan got the ball then how is he supposed to get out the way? It's part and parcel of the game is physical contact when in those situations. The referee was swayed by Ryans two other challenges, one which he was booked for and one he wasn't booked for, therefore the one he collected for the sending off is a joke and Stoke should appeal against it imo.

Absolutely. None of us know how Mame is but the management are seeing him day to day and they will know if he is ready. He didn't look right to me yesterday but due to the circumstances it wasn't really fair to judge him. I expect he will play Tuesday mind... [/quote Once Mame has the shirt it's his to lose....if someone (Anybody!!) can bag goals consistently from that position then we should see the top 8 team we all crave. I'm sure we can expect to see him narrowly miss a sackful before he starts scoring for fun again. I hope our supporters give him time as wlell.

And so began the Cold War. When I was in Canada I noticed that the men there all go to the toilet to pass wind. I thought it was hilarious, but the Canadians didn't even snigger. Some cultures are completely alien and yet it's Syria that we are thinking of invading.

Correct; all stoke can do is make a complaint about the refs performance as a whole, backed up with video evidence; the referees committee will study it long and hard, claim their expenses and meal allowance, and then tell stoke to fuck off the ref was right....

52% possession with ten men. If we had had the full XI throughout the game we would have won. Sunderland didn't look very good until they got their tails up in the last twenty minutes. You can keep the ball all day on the half way line all day. No threat. It doesn't break down the other team. Sunderland have won three games against teams who had more possession scoring nine goals and conceding none. Stoke created chances last season. It didn't happen on Saturday.

If that's a perfectly timed tackle I'd hate to see a bad one. When Shawcross was going for the ball I'm fairly sure he expected the ball to be going in the direction of Sunderlands goal and not towards our own, considering Watmore got to the ball 1st I'd love know how it should have been a booking for him. For the record I don't think it should have been a booking for Shawcross but I do think it was a foul. He got done by a quicker player but he still got a little touch of the ball so shouldn't of been a bookable offence.

" Are you Wenger in disguise, Are you Wenger in disguise " Seriously, that is taking the game the next step to a non contact sport, he is a defender, that's what they do, make challenges, he won the ball, Whatmore was slightly later than Ryan and didn't, should that have been a free kick to Stoke then, i don't think so, it wasn't reckless it is just what players do on the pitch, tackle to win the ball.

Thanks for clearing up the yellow/red card situation as above but as for the reply here I can't understand how anyone cannot see that the correct decision by incompetent mr dean would of been NO DECISION to make and play on! We might as well pack in going to watch football anymore if the officials are going to persist in making it a none contact sport! Shawcross played the ball therefore there was no foul! Whatmore proceded through his momentum to clatter into Ryan and did as all players do in lots of situations appeal his cause, it's up to the officials not to be swayed by the theatrics.
