Like I said it has to be the 'right' player. Arnies had those very comments directed at him in the past (even by the poster who posted that on the Walters thread)... But that's perfectly acceptable. Don't you think it's a tad hypocritical with the "it's ok to give Arnie grief when he was HORRIBLY OUT OF FORM (exaggeration)" but the slightes criticism of Jon when he's out of form get the usual suspects jumping on everyone's back? Of course you don't. At least be consistent with your faux outrage on both threads. Hmmmmmm. Consistency. I don't recall you leaping to Walters' defence when he's targeted. Yet you defend Arnie BEFORE any criticism is directed at him. Consistentcy......consistently predictable at least. No admittance then, like you say. Predictable.

Absolutely no one. It’s part of some sort of wider mythology built up by some supporters in an attempt to paint themselves as somehow superior to others. Aren't they the same people who hate Jon Walters? It works both ways, but you know that. People have favourite players and don’t take to certain players as others do, that’s gone on forever but would anyone truly be distressed if a player they didn’t particularly like that much, won an award? As for Arnie, people have had their doubts (the manager briefly ayt one stage) but hasn’t he been universally acclaimed as a phenomenon this season?

I will never forget the first time I saw him control a long and high cross/pass with his instep as if covered in a dab of particularly strong glue. "He's a good footballer" I thought and I haven't changed my mind since. He has ups and downs but don't we all.

Several posters love the player-hating strawman Stoke fan. Use up all their energy slagging the imaginary supporter off rather than actually giving any positives about players. 'He's shit... fuck him off etc' a kind of 'ironic' response to nothing more than perhaps the odd remedial or wind-upper at best. Thankfully they're a tiny minority too. Makes 'em look the proper super supporter. Pathetic and stifles genuine game by game assessments. 'Fuck 'em off.'

My point is that when SJW receives accolades we have the usual posters saying the haters will still hate. It works both ways. Both ways are total bollocks.

Now how about a lovely music video to calm us down?

This thread is titled "Marko Arnautivic - Contract News". Imagine my surprise when I click on it hoping to see some news and comment about Arnie's contract negotiations, only to discover that 98% of it is the usual suspects slagging each other off, and most of the rest is about a bulgy-eyed dog.

It happens a lot, petty point scoring and such. Nature of a messageboard I s'pose, each to their own. Any requests?

If we didn't have the same comments and the same posters with thier continual boo boys/scapegoats and them trying to prove they were right after all, then it'd all be made redundant wouldn't it? How about poison by Alice cooper for my mate momo.

One can only hope that the contract negotiations end soon, and that this thread will quickly die.

You must be kidding, Arnie's bookmarked this thread and stalling on a new contract for his own amusement.

Just to bring the thread back to what it supposed to be about...........
Arnies a class act and a footballing genius, he has the full bag of tricks and skills plus the hard working contribution he brings to the team, he seems to be one of the characters of the dressing room that the other players enjoy, (remember the last game against liverpool how he took all the players for pictures with the back drop of the boothen corner getting the fans to sing the Zonz a final swansong whilst he recorded it)he is one of this seasons best players if not this seasons best player by a country mile.....
The problem is up until this season he only showed this for part of the previous seasons making it very frustrating knowing what he has in the proverbial tank, I love the guy and would give him a damn good contract to keep him here, it does worry me that the situation has the same hallmarks as his best mate Stephen N'Zonzis last season with us, we all knew how good the Zonz was yet he showed the class when it suited him until he was fishing for a move in his last season with us, he went from an occasional star of the team to a weekly cant be without star of the team and then off he went.....
Is history about to repeat itself????
I just hope if we can manage to tie him down his attitude does not turn to previous seasons were he gave us 75% rather than this years 150%
A class player and a Stoke legend, if he played for one of the big boys the media would be tugging off over his contribution to the prem, instead he got a mention over Christmas due to who we played.
C'mon Arnie get it fucking signed son and stop pissing about!
